Jacques Station + EOL PROU nebula and the barnacle hunt

I'm tempted to go and haul some MAs out to Jaque, but how is it currently with the MA's? Has the bug where Barnacles didn't give them been fixed or can they stil be only bought at Darniells Progress?
It's probably quicker to pick them up at Darnielle's Progress. I spent a few hours there yesterday stocking up at 9t every ten minutes. My Anaconda is now en route to Jaques with 304t of MAs. I'd hate to think how long that would take to gather myself... .
.
Hopefully the combined efforts of commanders shipping MAs will have as much of an effect here as with any other station. I would hate to think that the developers would prevent repairs from having their full effect here because they have things planned... . I also don't see any reason why they should: so what if it was found and repaired earlier than expected? That won't have any effect on the introduction of any neighbouring spacefaring civilisations (or the ruins of one), it will just give players an outpost on the edge of the Galactic Core. The station's population is too low for expansion to be realistically possible at the moment - now that would be a fine CG series for 2.2 (deliveries of evac. shelters and survival equipment to Jaques -> get a base to then deliver further supplies and equipment to, like surface stabilisers and structural regulators, in order to prepare for a larger colony -> ship the would-be colonists to the new outpost)!

Main point is to show FD we don't need CG to move forward. Players should be the engine of the story.
But they need also to support players actions.
I think that is how i see things and how i have understood Bob and Erismus messages.

Although you're right, the loss for such a cargo is prolly at 20k CR per ton - i.e. 6M CR total. Plus the cargo is worth ~ 30M CR and it's a long and dangerous way these 21k LYs.

Some pilots do not have so deep pockets like you. ;)

You are quite right - it was inconsiderate of me and I apologise.
.
It's actually worse than you suggest: the price of MAs at Darnielle's Progress yesterday was 105273Cr/t and when I sold my previous cargo at Jaques last Sunday (30t of MAs along with various other items), the unit price of MAs was 65439Cr. If I get the same sale price when I arrive, I'll be losing almost 40KCr/t ! I wonder if that will actually set me back on my progress to trading Elite... . It's only if I survive to turn in my exploration data that I'll make any profit from the trip (I brought a mining laser for materials gathering but no refinery, so mining for metals/minerals is not an option - although it seems potentially lucrative).

Sitting in Maia filling up the hold with Meta-Alloys. :D

If my maths are correct it should only take me 4 hours.

o7 to h437h cos I know you had a larger hold than the one I am filling. [praise]

How are the active miners around jacques going at present. panite, palladium and platinum are all in high demand as is gold and silver.

Gallium and tantalum are also on the request more for probing the background simulation elements if there are any

Beer and liquor imports are welcome to keep jacques fuelled up as far as the station distilleries go

Oh and water imports / mining supplies would also be highly apprecited

Unfornatley for miners, the meta alloys seem to be failing in their ability to repair UA induced damage at a fast rate, it requires a lot of them. No additonal services except the restored commodities market have been onlined, it could be conditions in the nebula, as soon as possible additional technicans will be shipped to jacques to help his station crew try and figure out the situation - demand for industrial minerals and metals has gone up as jacques repairs some of the super structure and he is also building up stocks of gold silver and other wealth creation metals in order to pay for additional deliveries.

The income from the rare trade good, hydrogen and biowaste is minimal currently

is the system list being updated as that is really necessary. I can add one more to the candidate systems that meet the criteria: Eol Prou PX-T d3-642 Planet 1 a
im updating verified and confirmed information presented on the list on a daily basis -any new info can be posted on the thread and as i have time ill make adjustements once ive taken a look

I'd like to think that meta alloys are still the key but who knows, maybe we'll get some more hints at today's lavecon?

Really eager for station services to come online in some limited form now and am slightly disgruntled at the fact that the one contact on the mission board tells us to keep handing in exploration data and bounties when we are unable to do so.

I'm half tempted to run back to the bubble to drop my exploration data off at the CG for barnacle research but really don't want to leave the area if I am honest, though the funds would probably allow me to outfit my Anaconda for long distance and bring some meta alloys, choices choices lol.

any additional info from the devs about jacques at lavecon would be appreciated, thought im expecting there to not be very much at all at this point

Shipments of power generators, water purifiers and silver are also requested at this time

Im also getting an increasing amount of private messages with theories that the devs may have disabled the ability of Meta alloys to repair jacques like happens fairly automatically in the bubble. Im on the fence at the moment, we know 10000 tonnes + has possibly been delivered and still nothing new in 2 weeks since commodities markets were repaired.

Ill leave it up to the wider community if they want to continue MA deliveries or start delivering other supplies according to their own decision making process at this point

Biggest imports into jacques currently on system info is silver, mossindite and jaedite the last 2 are plaentary supplied metals which can be found in the core worlds with those with horizons

Sandro announced that FDev will be supporting the players wish to set up a bubble around Jacques. I assume details will follow as to how we can help

Im sure details may follow in some form at some point in the next 3-6 motnhs for sure as a baseline. In the meantime we may just have to do our best to adjust to a near vaccum of information outside of freelance commander submitted news articles that get submitted

Just watching for signs of life at this point, gathering exploration data and doing other activities as they are possible with the strict limitations imposed currently on the station

I honestly don't think anything else will happen until 2.2 drops, or at least until the current "cold war gets hot" thing is done with in merope

I honestly cant think of any reason why anything cant happen right now, just a polite question here, why should we wait until 2.2 drops or the current cold war gets hot stuff is done with to see signs of progress, thousands of tonnes of meta alloys in two weeks and not even one more service after the commodities thing has changed.

Im not sure why Frontier are so inflexible, i mean this in a polite way theres been so many suggestions on this thread about thigns that could happen

Unless the lavecon comments are something of a insight, in that frontier doesnt consider 200 hardly explorers and supporters / humanitarian convoys etc supporting jacques enough of a player base to pay attention to.

One month CG rather than one week, it is creative if it is a multi prong CG and one that has small breakthroughs each stage rather than a generic end target.

So on the numbers we might need 1000 commanders to jacques to generate significant red blob on the activity map * heat map * to get the ball rolling

Suggestions from the community as to what the community can do to make jacques more attractive would be welcomed.

In the meantime bring silver and jadeite and meta alloys are a lower prority given that it appears meta alloys are ineffective at restoring station services

Silver and jadeite are the highest import demand and im guessing might raise wealth modifiers out here.

Moissanite - This crystalline silicon carbide mineral has applications in electronics manufacture, and thermal energy absorption. (available extraction planetside colonies)

Jadeite - Jadeite, NaAlSi2O6, is a substrance of the purest green and used in variety of crafts and art. It has historical roots with the ancient Mesoamerican cultures. (planetary mining)

Silver - Self explantory acts as a conductor and probably a boom/wealth metal in the universe

These are the 3 in demand imports that jacques is seeking currently

All shipments are welcomed

In other news im just about done mapping every single system in the jacques nebula, its taken a while, i wont be first discovered on most of the systems but i might be one of the first ones to detail surface scan every single system. So a sign of filling in the time while we wait for things to unfold.

Depending on my direction, more barnacle hunting or a trip to the nearby dryooe prou nebulas which are also barnacle candidates but less searched by the general jacques community that is out here or has involvement currently

Hi there IprogenyI youre planet has been added to the front page list of systems

Are there any new commanders joining us in jacques in the next few days, or even leaving the bubble that might have been lurking and not said hi yet feel free to say hi

:D

Wow, impressive work!

Sandro announced that FDev will be supporting the players wish to set up a bubble around Jacques. I assume details will follow as to how we can help

it could be that we just get one big CG and a couple new settlements and no new automatic colony expansion using new BGS mechanics yet to be implemented and then the storyline moves on so im in two minds to keep encouraging the community to co ordinate and build up interest, or just hold off and see how much long term committment there actually is.

I'm still on my way, I swear; about 8 kylie out. I got distracted by a few ELWs, a mini neutron field, and a large icy body (20 earth radii) which was orbiting a neutron star.

Should be arriving near end of week.
