Jameson Memorial is back online.

I jumped aboard at the Beta stage I think and had the permit for Shinrarta Dehzra.

Started a new cmdr on the epic store version as I got horizons for free and picked up odyssey on sale a week or so ago. Going to use it for a change of pace when I take my main save out on walkabout when the Mandalay drops. I get bored just doing pure exploration.

Never understood paying for something that doesn't exist yet, with no guarantee of delivery. But that's just me.

Funding a startup is not without risk. Working for one may kill you (personal experiences...)
well backing the kickstarter gives you the opportunity to ask for special treatment even ten years down the road (remember the revolt that backers should get the PII early for free because it is "new content"?), so....

They just put the wrong bulbs in after the attack
I love the blue tone.

I suspect that, whoever was the contractor that repaired the lighting, skimmed over the job spec, and when asked by a colleague about the next job, said something like: "Got this massive lighting revamp in one Shim...Dra...thingy whatever system, on this cool James Cameron Memorial station!"

But asking for special treatment doesn't mean you will receive it. But hey, people will do what they want. It's all good I guess.

I liked it too... But it appears they just reverted it back to the old way (just went there on multiple accounts for parts). My guess is that modern skin is too graphically intensive for how many active players are usually in Jameson at one time.

Up to a point i understand.
I played the old Elite games and looked very much forward to this (Elite Dangerous).
So this is one of the two games i ever backed on kickstarter, i really wanted this to happen.
I was not disappointed, still enjoying it to this day.
The other game was Spaceventure, a spiritual successor to the old Space quest games, which took 10 years to develop.
When it finally came out it was a bit buggy, but still fun.

While Shinrarta Dezhra has planetary ports still under repair and the combined system Recovery at 40%, it seems that Jameson Memorial has been helped back to full operation! Enough supplies delivered to a single port in a Recovery system will do that and will indeed hasten that total progress, and there is now an accompanying Galnet report:

Jameson Memorial Starport Operational

02 OCT 3310

The famous megamarket Jameson Memorial is once again fully operational.

A recent Thargoid incursion into Shinrarta Dezhra caught AX forces by surprise, overwhelming the system and knocking most ports offline. Only Jameson Memorial resisted as large numbers of independent pilots flocked to the defensive campaign.

Florian Baljak, now officially installed as the starport commander for Jameson Memorial, offered this statement:

“I am overwhelmed by the response to the recovery initiative for offline ports. The flow of resources and commodities to this great system reflects the importance that Jameson Memorial holds in the eyes of our pilots.”

The Pilots’ Federation has confirmed the loss of over 1,600 licensed Commanders and Rescue Rangers during the attack. The initial resistance to the Thargoid fleet was upheld by these pilots until reinforcements arrived. Shinrarta Dezhra is the home of the elite pilot organization, with its headquarters situated on Founders World.

Several military sources have mentioned that the Thargoid attack fleet in Shinrarta Dezhra was far larger than a typical system invasion force. The Thargoids suffered considerable losses as the conflict wore on, with confirmed Thargoid Scout kills noted as "particularly high".

All services previously found at Jameson Memorial are now available for pilots with access to the system. The Shinrarta Dezhra temporary access permit granted to pilots will expire on Thursday 3rd October.

I think that article is more interesting because it holds a possible implication of further Thargoid developments -

Somehow, I’m not convinced that this isn’t a false flag from the writers.

What was that?! After a few days of really special interior lighting the station got back to same old... come on Fdev, after invasion and rebuilding effort from community couldn't you keep that special look? Jameson Memorial is a special place so it deserves special look instead of ordinary industrial like anywhere else.

Like for others, Jameson was back online after the tick for me. However, I read elsewhere about how a certain group of players had done so much to supply Jameson to allow it to repair. Did I miss a CG or something? I saw nothing listed. Indeed, the "Defend Jameson / Shinrarta" CG is still in my Transactions list. Yet I cashed in and got the equipment rewards ages ago.

Oh, I do have a message I've not deleted about getting some materials for my Tier 1 contribution. What about Tier 2 and 3?

There's a group called "Operation Ida" that has been dedicated to restoring systems that are damaged by the goids. https://www.operationida.com/

Not a CG but Project Operation Ida a collection of players that go around repairing stations by hauling ….loads of stuff.

That is a reward from the Invasion mechanics not the CG the tiers in that case are like the %contribution bands of a CG you can only be in one and that will be the highest you reached. So to get either of the other two you would have needed to do more to fight the invasion evacuations would count.

Must type less when ninjas are about.

It’s actually sort of the inverse from the CG contribution, or rather not as obvious. It still acts as a percentile distribution (and was described as such by Frontier), but tier 3 is the lowest reward - 3 of each material listed - while tier 2 (10 mats) is the middle and tier 1 (20 mats) is the highest.

I believe it was something like basic contribution - even 1 Scout kill - provides the tier 3 qualifier, tier 2 is [top] 75% and tier 1 is top 25%. Would go with the patch notes but cba to go search them. I’m sure somebody has it on their rapid fire copy/paste list.

Ah, so the simulation naturally increases demand for certain wares when a station is damaged? I wasn't aware of that, good stuff though.

Thanks for clarifying re: the material rewards too.

I did indeed get rewarded with 20 of several different materials. I know I was top 25% in the CG, so I did destroy quite a lot of Thargoids. Didn't do any rescuing though. Thanks for the extra details.
