Joystick stuck on hard left and down

The software that comes with the stick probably has a calibration setting. Have you tried that. Would be helpful to know what stick it is.
Also when opening the launcher (not the game, for some reason) if the stick is leaning against something then that is where it will think it is centered. make sure the stick is dead center before even opening the launcher.
Mines was slightly pushed backward by my monitor while I was loading the game and sorting my desk space so my ship would pitch up even with the stick centered. Only way to sort that is completely closing the game and the launcher then trying again.
What I also do before launching the game is move the stick through all its axis and return to centre then open the launcher. It helps a lot with micro drift
Definitely dont have any other controllers attached like a gamepad sitting weird on a desk etc ?

Are you sure it's not broke?
A previous joystick I had, had a tiny left turn while flying after a year of use or so. In the Fdev flight control setting for that joystick axis I increased the dead zone to cover the tiny turn left. You could try that. It was a couple years ago, and I am now using a different joystick which has not needed that 'fix'. So I do not remember the exact location or setting name but it is in the ED controls for flight.
Yeah the bushings and stuff slowly wear with use and the joystick will drift after a while, mine does and I increased the dead zone, so yes increasing the dead zone helps with that, but in this case, unless it's something already mentioned in the thread, it may be time for a new joystick, I don't think a dead zone to cover hard left and down will actually work! Of course if you are skilled you can replace the Hall Sensors and bushing yourself but really whose got time for that!
