As someone who pre-ordered both games I too feel it's rather mean to have a limited time extra for a game. Sometimes people don't find out about the bonuses in time. Sometimes people come to the game long after it's release. It's a really crappy feeling as a customer to find a game you like, buy all the dlc, and then find out your game is still incomplete because you missed a limited time bonus. This happened to me with the vivid ankylosaurus skin in the first game (thankfully I managed to get my hands on it after the fact from someone who bought the bundle but didn't want to use the JWE skin code)
It's just a way for companies to make money off their product before they actually release it. I get it. It's about making money. But then locking that little bonus away for everyone else WHO WOULD GLADLY PAY EXTRA is both cruel and also dumb when it comes to the overall profits.
Take the first game for instance. Yeah I preordered that one too. Got the orange skins for the jeeps and helicopters. Then I found out that each console got it's own unique color pre-order skin. I saw green, white, blue, red.... all only available as preorder bonuses for their respective consoles. I hated that. I felt like no matter what I did, I'd never have the complete JWE experience. I would have so very gladly dished out extra money if they had put all those different preorder skins into a dlc so I could have more than just the orange skin. Even if I had gone out and purchase multiple consoles (I play on pc) and bought every version of the first game, I still wouldn't have a single copy of it that had EVERYTHING in one place. And that's what irks me. Like, to no end.
@Jens Erik I know the first game is over and done with but you should REALLY let the team know that if they put all the different platform exclusive preorder skins into a dlc that they would definitely make some money off of it. Same for the inGen preorder skins for JWE2. Because locking game content behind a limited one time event when there's people willing to pay for it is mean and costs you profit. I mean it's not like you guys need to put any dev time into it because the assets are already there and in the game. Just make it unlockable behind a pay wall for those that don't have it. Only thing that may take some effort is adding the different color skins from JWE1 together into a pack useable on every system.
