Just for fun: the lightning round 🧑‍🎨

 So, it seems everyone has advanced in their personal preferences but ignored other categories for so long that they remained on a level that could have the "noob" stamp on them.
I try a bit of everything but I also have a short attention span so I tend not to finish things 😅😅 outside of photography I am learning fibre art, spinning wool to yarn, embroidering, and making dye for colouring the yarn. I also paint and draw, but not as often. I was travelling full time until recently so it's nice to pick up a few hobbies that I have been missing again.

Basically. I can paint as far as someone could throw me. So, basically 2 strokes and then I'm done.
I prefer drawing, but I don't draw much. Typically I'm either writing/putting ideas together to write, I'm experimenting in the kitchen with recipes, I'm digging in the dirt and under rocks for bugs and snakes and lizards, or I'm jumping around outside like an idiot for no apparent reason

I did my Red Panda!

I drew alot back in the day but then i swapped from 2d to 3d and nowadays i pretty much exlusively work with stuff i can form with my hands. So mostly polymer clay, which i use to make dinosaur models aswell as small figurines for a fantasy worldbuilding project im working on.
Other than that i really enjoy building backgrounds for my terrariums from styrofoam and cement.
And i want to try making dioramas in the future

Writing is definitely a great artform, I spend alot of time reading, but can't write worth a dime.

Cooking Is the best. Outside of art - I homestead. I've been doing a lot of jam and preserving lately, and I made a killer mulberry pie the other night!

I do also spend a fair bit of time hiking, so that I have subjects to photograph - today I had a Brolga show up in a dry creekbed, I'll post pics in the irl wildlife threat tomorrow

That's so interesting, i love to watch clay creations come to life.

I don't want to get started on what I want to try in the future, because that list would be longer than the metalist, but my big one would be dicemaking.

I’m almost done with a relatively short Star Wars Fanfic. It’s called Flight Test: A Star Wars Story, and It’s about a Sienar worker Theron Karnic and his escape to the rebellion, along with some adventures along the way.

I tend to not finish things when they doesn't "match my expectation" from the very beginning. So, if I can't see the person I'm drawing and say "yes, that's exactly THIS person" from the first few strokes, I discard the whole sketch :D

My respect! Give me some clay and I even fail at forming a turd.

Oh, my realm as well :D I love to write fan fiction. But I never load them up somewhere. I'm too afraid of someone tear my stories apart like a fragile leaf of paper 😬
What do you write?

I did my Red Panda!

Like! 👌

Here’s a PDF of it. It’s not done and it’s my first time writing one of these so it’s probably not the best lol.

Mostly science fiction.
Right now, I'm actually writing a short story for a roleplaying board game we (me, my brother, and my cousin) made called Prehistoric Legacy. It's really very much like Jurassic Park, but with our own twists. I actually even made an fandom wiki for it. 2 members: me and my brother. My cousin uploaded some stuff but doesn't have an account 🤣. The wiki is still a WIP, though, so things are constantly changing...
Another world we made (because we don't have story stories) is what we call Spectacle Comics, which is essentially a universe of superheroes as well as alien empires. Basically combining DC, Marvel, Star Wars and Star Trek altogether, but keeping what we like and discarding what we don't like. It's a long story, though, so it does require a whole lotta explaining to do.

Those are what I'm doing currently

That sounds like a fun rpg! Though I have to admit, my character sheet would present a character like "Mouse" Finbar from the Jumanji remake and I'd be talking to the Dinosaurs all the time.

I write Star Trek fan fictions 🤓

Nublar, the final island. These are the voyages of the S.S. Venture. It's 5 day mission: to seek out and explore strange new islands, to find new dinosaurs, to boldly go where no sane person would want to go...

Actually, I recall 1 game, a test game back when it was originally gonna be a Jurassic Park rpg. It was the 3 of us and another friend who wanted to try. We found an infant Tyrannosaur and wanted to take it, but when we did, the parents started to follow. Hilariously, we got into a chopper and tried to fly away, but the Rex came. We tossed some gas and flares, and the Rex caught on fire. I don't remember if it survived. But, the chopped failed and crashed. My friend and my brother died. So, my cousin and I kept going when a Spino came. My cousin and I split, but it went after him and killed him. When it turned to me, I remembered that I had a raptor sound chamber, so I used it and a raptor pack came. There was a 50-50 chance they attack me, but they went after the Spino instead. I managed to reach the boat waiting for me at the coast, and I won by default for being the only survivor.
But now, since we didn't wanna risk legal reasons for if we ever decide to publish, we redid the whole story, the whole world, etc. And actually, we have more fun like this

Man i dont have the brain juice to create a real story.
I just like to cook a fantasy world and dozens of characters and never do anything with it :D

Ha ha, that's kinda what Spectacle Comics is, although we do have some key events (or as they call them, canon events).
Prehistoric Legacy is actually the first true novel I'm writing (well, short novel. That's a novella, I believe)

Damn. If you ever wanna write a story in my world hit me up :D

Since this kinda turned into an animal related art thread i thought i might share this little guy which ive been working on the past couple day.
Hes a lifesized reconstruction of the scipionyx fossil ( a couple days old dinosaur hatchling so well preserved you can see the internal organs).
And since cassowaries are radiating some real jurassic park energy, the coloration is inspired baby cassowary chicks :)
