Just got killed, lost everything. No money.

Trading with the Sidewinder is slow but not impossible, and if you're having initial difficulties it's a good way to learn your ship, practice docking, and get some confidence with flying.

Pick up 2 containers of liquor from Azeban City and take it to Freeport. If you get interdicted put all power to engines, hit C to restart the frameshift, and tap boost to keep away from the pirates. You can outrun anyone. At Freeport sell the hooch and buy some Rutile, take it to Dahan. There sell the Rutile and buy some Aluminium to sell at Chango. At Chango buy mineral extractors to take to Freeport. Once you've done that you should just about have enough to buy a second fixed pulse laser, which makes combat easier. This shouldn't take much more than an hour even with a saturated market.

Anybody got any ideas?

If I can't do anything, I can't play, can I? I'm glad so many people seem to be very successful at this game. I have no idea how they do it. They must literally devote their lives to playing. This game is needlessly cheap with money, difficult and confusing to play, and has major problems, in my opinion. It takes an hour to make 500 credits, which is worth next to nothing. Then, with goods in your cargo hold, some jerk destroys you, and you lose eveything. No money, no way to advance. Total .

Beta testing means you can play, and try things out. All I do is fly around and then some imbecile nails me. 150 bucks to be completely irritated. What a bargain.

don't worry about it to much happened to me to was entering a station got teleported inside the station blow up lost everything all I did was report the bug started again everything will be wiped over the next couple of months anyway
do what I do when some imbecile starts shooting at you in your sidewinder all power to engines and run until you get a bigger ship
I got into the beta to help the developers bug test and even with all the bugs I'm still loving the game
if you think 1000 credits is to small just report it as they will take it in a lot of things will change before release anyway
get some trade routes there are tons of them on this forum I'm just using this beta test as practise because I want to hit the ground running when full release comes around

keep in touch if you get into anymore difficulties give us a shout or check back on the forum

lost stuff

don't feel bad, mac.. it has happened to us all one time, or in my case many times!! I think the difficulty makes the game better, imo yes I have gotten sooo mad at the mother-f'er ... but I keep commin back for more!! lol

Very much doubt that will change upwards, possibly down though. You could probably make an argument that it should be more in beta.

erm MORE credits????? correct me if I am wrong but when we start we will be in a sidewinder with 100 credits (unless we take the "cheating" backers privalages)

On the strength of Asp Explorers comment, about to try docking blindfolded with my 10 year old daughter giving directions, could be a laugh.

Caution, 10 year olds do not make good navigators ( the film Flight of the navigator springs to mind), under no circumstances let then have the keys to your new cobra MkIII:eek:
