Just had my first proper session with Rift and full HOTAS... OMG!

Ok ok ok I'm sold.... good god. Finally got things good enough to fly for a session with full Rift & Warthog HOTAS / Saitek pedals. Oh my god...

When you exit the station and look over at a nice blue HUGE planet with continents etc, this is incredible! And the increased view ability to the rear and sides is amazing.

LOVING IT!

Now we just need some sort of VR glove (ala Razer Hydra kinda thing) so we can fly and still control all the cockpit buttons...

I too experienced my first open game last night and I concur sir, your choice of words summon sit up pretty good! Did you jump into am eagle, the hud on that is nuts!

Are you using direct mode or extended?

Try to find a station in a very low orbit like that one at Eranin we always started at after a wipe. When you come out of the docking bay, the planet looks absolutely huge!

Ah good point, I'll go back and find my Eagle. Just tried out the outfitting... WOW. Now I know what it will be like to walk around the station. Its so cool if you move between your different hardpoints especially the ones at the back, you can look all around your ship and landing gear... amazing.

Also landing at a platform is a whole new experience, I spent a few minutes blasting all around the platform flying between the buildings and tanks, got to love 3D.

I have only found one negative effect so far and that is I can't see the "trail" behind another ship in Frameshift drive, they are just a glowing sphere.

Need to take a break... you can really lose time in this thing :)
