Just Me At Beagle Point?

  • docking same as stations
  • yes, if it jumps, you jump with it. you get several warnings before service lockdown if in the game. i wouldn't log out on an unknown FC, though.
Appreciate the confirmation - right off to see if the Johnny Depp (sorry, Black Pearl) is still there and assuming it doesn't shoot me out the sky and 3 months of travel down the drain, see if I can board.

Now you mention it, don't think I did although I remembered to at Semotus. I'll be sure to FSS on the return.

As an aside, what's the procedure to land at a FC? Presumably target and comm same as a station back in the Bubble? I'm also curious what happens if the FC jumps while you are still docked - presumably you respawn in whatever system it's moved to?

Docking procedure is the same as for docking at the station

If the FC jumps, your ship jumps with it. Which might leave you stranded - especially if the FC has no shipyard and you cannot transfer a cheap ship you can destroy to take a suicidewinder back to civilization. Support might help in this situations.

Well successfully docked at the Black Pearl (no sign of Mr Depp), repaired, replenished and sold some nav data. Thanks to the Captain for the hospitality!

I presume this updates the location of my "hard" saved game too, so if I come to grief on the way home, it defaults back to the last FC location?

Back at Beagle Point, rendezvoused with DSSA Distant Worlds, offloaded the rest of my Nav Data which is one of the main benefits of having these capital ships at key exploration hubs. Yes 25% commission but better than losing 150mil credits worth acquired on the outward journey, doing an Icarus when scooping on the way home.

Anyhow, Neutron Highway here I come!

Billy Joel told me the Mic does too.

And they sit at the bar and put bread in my jar
And say man what are you doin' here?

+1 for taking me back to '84. Playing Elite on the Spectrum and listening to Billy Joel's Greatest Hits Volume 1&2 on repeat on my £5 Dixons mono cassette player.

From Bubble to Beagle "only" 150 millions? 😳 You must have done something wrong, very wrong.

Bubble via Explorers' End and the western side to Beagle.
A 70 LY Anaconda inevitably has fewer stops than when I made the run in a 45 LY Asp!
I only FSS about 1 system in 5, longer if you get a run of systems with one or two bodies. The travel just gets too tedious otherwise.
Far fewer first discoveries on this trip too - even on the remote western rim many people have now blazed a trail through the area. I even ended up in a few systems I'd visited previously myself!
I only detail scan ELW's and I think of all the systems I took a look at I encountered a grand total of 2. Mostly it is just dead ice or rock balls, worth a few bob that's all.
And of course the FC 25% cut of the take...

Last trip I made was with Conda too,72ly jump,I only Scan/Map worthy stuff don't bother with the rest.At Explorer's Anchorage I sold 400 millions then went to Beagle and Ishum's Reach and came back skimming the Western fringes of the Galaxy anticlovkwise, one stop at Medusa's Rock and back to Jameson's,total outcome of the trip 1.8 Billions, the average for going to the Center (be it Colonia or Sag A) it's always been into the 350/450 Millions done that trip with several ships.Going to Beagle and back without much detours has always been about 1 Billion.

I saw Billy Joel’s piano on display at Madison Square Garden back in Feb, not sure what the mic tasted of, the whole thing was in a big Perspex case. Presumably they remove that before he takes the stage. It did have several drinks holders attached so I guess Billy loves his beer?
