Just noticed something.. worth a bug report you think?

So I only just got my DK2 this week so I am still playing with things but I just noticed a couple of things that I think are 'a shame' but I can't decide of they are worth making a ticket for.

I was just bombing around in the sidy when I remembered that unlike the ED Tracker you can lean in and move your virtual head.. then I remembered that you could stand up and look around you!

I noticed two things that made me think "oh"

Firstly, if you stand up and look down over your ships nose, when you deploy hardpoints the doors don't open, the turrets just clip though the nose of the ship which as there is an animation for this already seems a bit of a shame..

The second one, and I grant you that this is totally OCD, if you stand up in the sidy cockpit your head is poking out of the top of the canopy, again I know.. but I just found myself thinking..."well how the hell did I get in here then ?"

What do you think? I am 90% on the first at 45% on the second that it's worth reporting..

Thanks

First one yes, it's lazy design and should be pointed out.
Second, not so much, more just a quirk of the head tracking in a small cockpit.

On the second, the game is intended to be seated. We need to be careful what we wish for. The most logical 'bug fix' would be in some way to lock your head to your seated body. Though technically correct it would stop any walking around which could be a shame ;)

Not only that, the ship models are terribly low LOD, bought skins aren't visible from the cockpit and more - definitely should be fixed, but looking at the copious amounts of work the devs are looking at atm and this only affecting a small minority whilst not directly affecting gameplay, I didn't ticket it as of yet.

Someone brought this up in a fan creations thread about a proof of concept Video I made on the subject of standing up in the rift. Imho, it could be exploited to look behind you whereas the Cockpit construction would otherwise not allow you to and should probably be fixed, although I'd miss the 'magic carpet rides' sitting on my cobras nose.

Doesn't necesarily mean locking the head to the Avatar - a simple collision detection on the canopies borders would do the trick. Fencing in tracking to a small boundary around the Avatars head would be a real same though.

Does anyone know if the doors open when you are looking at someone else's ship ? I have seen videos of cargo hatches and landing gear being fully animated from the 3rd person's view but are the gun doors?
