Just wow!

So, I left the game shortly before Horizons. A that time the game ran smooth as silk. 15-20 hours at a time. No issues. My reasons for leaving were otherwise. Hopefully they've dealt with the SJW mentality of the mod(s) here by now.

I come back and freeze-crash-freeze-crash-freeze-crash-freeze-crash-freeze-crash-freeze-crash-freeze-crash. This morning it took me eight (yes, you read that right: EIGHT) freeze-crashes from 3k clicks away to dock a platform only to then have the mission board refuse to appear, despite several tries.

What the hell happened to this game?

It was ok for the most part before the last day or so. It's not just you. Been having issues as well.. most notably with the mission board. Been disconnected a few times and the UI will freeze sometimes as well.. particularly on refuels and ship changes. My only requirement for a game that says you must always be online is that your game and all of its parts should always be as well. Maybe that's asking too much.

Wow! I can't remember the last time I had a crash in ED in all the thousands hours I have played.
About a year ago I started getting some crashes for no reason, an update to my Mobo sound drivers fixed the issue no idea what happened then .

Seeing something similar. Screen goes black at inopportune moments. The FPS/bandwidth counters are still running so it isn't a hard crash, but requires a task kill to restart. Happened to me about 4 times in a couple of hours this afternoon, inside a CZ.

Lol srsly. There was a time when SJW was used to describe extremists with progressive views(#killallmen type of people).
Now that, along with "white knight" is essentially "anyone who disagrees with me".

Defend a feature you like about Elite? Or even hold a remotely optimistic view about the game? WHITE KNIGHT! FANBOY!

Mods close a thread, ban/suspend a user in breach of forum rules? SJW!

Sometimes the Userbase here....

Well, you almost caught a glimpse of the issue there, sport. The problem is not the "progressive values," but the regressive ones - the authoritarianism.

We just saw a so-called "reason rally" fall flat on its face. There are reasons many, various, and contrived for this, but the most obvious one is that anyone who dared to not toe the dogma line was told to shut up and march lockstep. Oddly enough, most people won't go to parties with those rules. So, the party failed to meet its anticipated attendance by *a whole order of magnitude* (and yes, I am using that phrase properly in this case). Some people understand why. Others, perhaps like you, don't. Reason does not tolerate silencing of speech and inquiry. Only dogma demands that.

Here's a sure symptom of an authoritarian perspective online: whenever anyone says anything outside what you like (AKA: YOU are offended by), you may complain to the mod(s) and they will silence the other person. That was the case here when I left. Here's another symptom: rules so broad, incoherent and unverifiable that anyone can be held in breach of them at any time - but only one opinion, oddly enough, ever is. Grey matter starting to un-seize yet?

You sound like someone who was called a "white knight" and was deeply triggered. Quick! Run to a mod and have someone banned. That's your MO, right?

Having trouble yesterday as well.

Docking request timeouts at stations.
Mission board very slow.
Mission board not available at all.
Losing matchmaking thingy, dropped into main menu.
Task manager kill for taking too long.

And a CTD.

Dude, if you think the mods in this forum are 'sjws' you must be an 'mra'. Credit where it is due - sjws are completely mental, but you've got to be missing a few testicles to think that the fd moderators are anywhere near the same level of authoritarian. I've found their actions to be quite reasonable, including the likelihood of infracting me for calling you an mra :p

As for your graphics issues, check your drivers, benchmark your card and hdd, maybe your hardware is pooched or something is eating your system resources. MS Security Essentials for example, is a complete bar steward and will murder performance if it starts up.

Have you tried checking your game's integrity and/or re-installing? Before saying there's something wrong with the game; make sure your game didn't get corrupted when you downloaded the latest patch.

Its in the nature of people who desire to be moderators to be a little authoritarian, and a little happy with having power over others. Almost exclusively they come from the ranks of "fanboys" as you put it. Thats just natural if you think about it. Its an unpaid position, so only people who enjoy that kind of thing would want it, and the devs arent exactly gonna give it to someone who is strongly critical of the game.

So at teh time of getting the position all mods are gonna be fanboys to some extent.
And they all like having bureaucratic power, and they are all at least a bit authoritarian.

The question to ask is "do you want total 4chan-tier chaos on a forum, or are you willing to accept a little stalinism to keep it in check?".

As to your other issues: https://support.frontier.co.uk/kb/ . I've never had to use it but I understand they are very good.

Does anyone take you serious? Because your post is so utterly ridiculous.

Is this a discussion about the current state of the game, or about the Jack-booting, authoritarian, insecure, stalinist, gestapo, SJW moderator team?

I'd like to know because one of those isn't permitted on the forums :D
