JWE3 Confirmed and Suspected returning species at launch

I love the new addition, I was curious what new ceratopsids that could be added that is not diabloceratops, einiosaurus, or of the small bipedal species like psittacosaurus, but this is a surprise addition that not just looks nice, but it is also a recently discovered one too.

I think new species are going to be showcased on their website moving forward. I was surprised to have stumbled on the announcement on YouTube, came here on the forums to read more about it like how it was with JWE2, and didn't see a post was made.

You could find more about future dinosaur additions from the gallery on the JWE3 website.

I will miss the forum discussion that came with each new addition. That was fun when it was shared here on the forums directly.

Certainly a solid design. The breeding requirement seems the same as Triceratops, an area with no cohabitation, so I guess that's the case for Ceratopsids in general.

Juveniles are shown alongside other species so it seems a bit odd. Anky and Brachio don't use Fibre, so I guess that must be part of the Lokiceratops diet.

Frontier put out a short video about breeding mechanics... confirms Tropeognathus is returning... our fifth confirmed pterosaur (and yet, only our third essential pterosaur)...

In other news, Evolution Square was talking about the breeding video that was just put out. Before going into depth about the video though, she claims she was at some recent creators event, where a new species of sauropod was spotted... though she isn't able to go into depth about what she saw, she compares it to Prehistoric Kingdom's Argentinosaurus.

Crossing fingers we get another species profile this Tuesday...

It's the same event from a while back, just something not noticed then. It's a view from the back and above, so could be just about any sauropod.

Sigh... personally I'm hoping it isn't Argentinosaurus... Dreadnoughtus already covers the "giant Cretaceous South America titanosaur with no contemporaries" niche thoroughly... plus, if they're gonna remove animals just to make room for new ones, I'd be much happier if the new animals were more new and exciting and less... Lokiceratops the fifth Triceratops clone...

In regards to the unidentified sauropod, I saw the image and I really am curious to see what animal it truly is.

I do have a strong suspicion that it is the dreadnoughtus, which I hope is the case as it means not only is the Dominion animal returning, but it would be the first confirmation that the Frontier Design of a canon animal would return. This would be great news for peeps who liked the frontier design over the cannon design.

Also, if it is indeed the dreadnoughtus, I want to see if they modified the model at all, since that animal was criticized in JWE 1+2, and I could imagine some tweaks may have been made to give it a fresh look in JWE3.

There is no doubt all the species from the previous films will be added, it is still a question of when the new species of the newest film be added.

Here is a list of supposedly returning novel species from the previous Jurassic World: Evolution games:

  • Dryosaurus
  • Cearadactylus
  • Maiasaura
  • Styracosaurus
  • Euoplocephalus
  • Apatosaurus

These novel-exclusive species have not been included:

  • Hypsilophodon
  • Hadrosaurus

With Titanosaurus around the corner, the massive sauropod niche does seem a little oversaturated if we're getting Argentinosaurus.

Othnielia is also a novel species, though I guess it'd be called Nanosaurus if it came to the game. Procompsognathus is also a thing, though a bit redundant.

Counting both novels there's Mussaurus too.

Othnielia would also be a bit redundant as well... living at the same time and place as Dryosaurus and being barely any different beyond being smaller.

Mussaurus might be nice... but it's not as big a name as Plateosaurus or Massospondylus, and the latter have both former beat in terms of usefulness...

I may as well mention Hadrosaurus being redundant as well... it's very poorly known, though generally restored as an Edmontosaurus clone... it also comes from a dig site devoid of any contemporaries, making it useless for scientifically accurate mixed exhibits.

Procompsognathus and Compsognathus, there are any differences between the two.

Since Titanosaurus' debut in the newest film, the chances of it being added is higher than Argentinosaurus.

I forgot to list Othnielia and Mussaurus, but it matters not.

Massospondylus might be around 2 stars as in "I'm sure I've read about them somewhere". Plateosaurus being 3 stars as in "These dinosaurs are real classics", chances of it being added is higher. Prehistoric Kingdom has Plateosaurus, and I think Frontier should catch up.

The main potential benefit from Othys would be the tree climbing and hopping they do in the novels, outside of that, not particularly interesting.

Hadrosaurus would even be the only species from Appalachia (could get some others, like Dryptosaurus, a giant Hypsibema, Saurornitholestes, & Deinosuchus). Inverse to the modern creative strategy, Hadrosaurus is one of the few species I could see them resorting to historical reconstructions for, as much as that doesn't mesh with everything else.

Like Segisaurus, the collection of requests is still going to persist, even though people are likely only going to use them for one park.
