Engineers Kamitra Cigars - Hera Tani

In just "playing the game", I'm at the point of unlocking Hera Tani. But I need 50 Kamitra Cigars, from what I can tell, you can only get a maximum allotment of 8 per trip (reasonably long trip for a casual).

Is this right? I'm sat with 8 units in my hold thinking this is insane. Please on here keep saying it's not a grind, but how is that anything apart from grinding? There is no game play element there?

Have I completely missed something obvious?

From memory, if you sit there with 8 in your hold for about 10 minutes, another 7 come up for sale. The maximum allocation is 15.

I haven't left, so I'll check when I get home from work - 24 hours should be enough to show that!

I managed to get a further 7 units. But still, 15 units max per run is frightfully dull "gameplay".

Yes. Either try to play the BGS to push the station into boom, wait for a boom state or combine it with other activities.

It took no time at all to get her the cigars she wanted and even less effort.

If it's frightfully dull, don't do it. You don't need Hera for anything. She can bust off with her damn cigars for all you care. Oh, what's that? You need her? Then get her what she asked for because No cigars = No mods.

There are several options:

1. Take the limited allocation, either wait 10 minutes or do a quick mission (I believe there are some Empire factions in Kamitra so you can gain superpower rep) to get another allocation, deliver to Hera. Do this 4 times and you're done, should be doable in one evening.
2. Wait for Kamitra to be in boom state. Allocations are greatly increased, it should only take 2 trips to deliver 50 tons.
3. Do it one delivery at a time when you're in the general area. It will take long, possibly 10 trips, but you'll do it between some other activities so it won't feel like repeating the same thing over and over.

4) Find a friend. Do in one run.

I am doing the same work, unlocking Hera Tani engineer and I have just observed there is firstly 8 units and later, 7. I do not know the time after the first one. Maximum allocation seems to be 15 but I am not sure.

When I arrived in the System to collect a batch of Kamitra Cigars - I'd never been before - I found a grand total of just three (3) in stock. I was in my Trade Anaconda at the time, needless to say I thought I'd wait for another day and jump out in my DBX perhaps when the system is in boom.

I sorta wish the game gave us a special mission allowing us to buy a bulk load of these "unlock" wares, but perhaps at an inflated price. I.e. "Special Collection for Heri Tani" and you end up paying a bit more to "clear her tab" for example. Or, you could just do it the old multi-visit way. Players choice.

Scoob.

I think this is FDevs attempt to let us hauling cargo, as this what it is about...
But they cannot pick material that you can bring all once, as that would not have you go back and forth several times. If you are stuck with a small ship, you would have to, but if you have something like a Cutter, you could do it in one go. And if we are bringing up the total so that even a Cutter owner have to make multiple trips, would make this a nightmare for people only having access to small ships, as they would have to make ALOT more trips... Cutter can haul over 700T with shields, 792T no shields. Type 9/10 532T no shields. Type 7 304T no shields, type 6 112T...

So in this regard, using rare goods is a compromise that allow any player in any ship to actually complete those with about the same number of runs. And if we disregard the smallest ships, then same number of runs.

As most of these unlock stuff is to get you to try out stuff todo in game. Mining, Bounty hunting, Doing missions, earning faction reputation, etc, etc, So I think it is great to get us to try all this stuff, and they make us do it beyond our comfort zone, lieke the crazy mine 600T ore, yikes, I was not soo looking forward to that one... And now I have a Mining Beluga, as it was the only good use I could think of short of selling it, and I do enjoy to go mining from time to time, not make money, but to enjoy myself, ice rings are my favourite! Sadly there are very little in game information available to give you good hints at how to proceed with each kind of unlock. So we are tuck trying to figure out on our own, take the forums or just searching the net for handy guides, that sorts of make these into booring task as these guides most of the focus on making it as efficient as possible. And not to forget how FDEV from time to time trips up their own game with missions rewards gone missing from time to time... making some of the unlocks even harder to achieve.
