Tune the affect so that it's stronger the more Guardian stuff you have on one ship.
Currently, the Glaives popping up in CZs, stations and settlements all but entirely negate Guardian tech. Before when this field was confined to HIP 22460 and Maelstrom systems, this meant deliberately fitting your ship for those systems. But now, Guardian tech is unreliable at best. This has effectively negated much of the reasons for exploring Guardian ruins, the personal narrative, and the time spent acquiring Guardian tech. When Thargoids could break your Guardian toys in specific systems, it was a decent tradeoff for going into those systems. Now that Thargoids can break Guardian modules anywhere, it's made them virtually worthless.
I would propose that the means by which the Thargoids degrade Guardian tech is based on the strength of the Thargoid and the concentration of Guardian "stuff" in one place. It would explain why the Proteus Wave's second shock happened so quickly (we had a lot of Guardian stuff all in one spot), why Guardian tech degrades so quickly in HIP 22460 and Maelstrom systems (The Proteus device and Thargoid Titans are immensely powerful), and why the Orthrus turns off your Guardian stuff so fast (It is a purely defensive platform, a Thargoid version of electronic warfare that eschews offensive weapons an instead focuses on caustic defense or whatever Thargoids call their "Guardian jammers").
This would mean that the Glaive's anti-Guardian field would strongly affect larger ships with 6+ Guardian weapons and multiple Guardian modules (forcing those ships to diversify their loadouts away from purely Guardian tech) while smaller ships would experience slower Guardian degradation, allowing them to be more balanced and useful without rendering their Guardian modules ineffective in such a short amount of time.
