Hi friends! You can work with collision on or off, it doesn't matter because we have excellent coders who can implement the winning design to work across all your games ;) so build freely!

Ozric, I'll make a forum post after Facebook live with the top 5 and the winner as well :)

It might be a bit more complex than that as we don't know whether they are testing with collisions enabled or disabled.

Shane

I thought about that possibility. But it simply wouldn't make any sense to test them without as even if an entry was built with collisions disabled it would still work with them enabled, but obviously not the other way round.

I can't conceive of a reason that they would want to make an effort to stop people showing off a brand new feature of the game in this competition...

I think it's most likely they just hadn't thought about this in that much detail and are now going to figure out how to accommodate all the entries that people have made. It wouldn't take very much update the game to show a message each time someone tries to place a blueprint made with collisions disable: "placing this item will turn off collisions, continue?"

Or I might be wrong and a number of fantastic entries are about to be binned [cry]

EDIT ^^^ forget all this, I see Bo just posted lol

Excellent :D

So glad that's cleared up at last!

Thanks for the clarification Bo. Was worried I wasted a lot of hours on that creation and it was daunting to think I would have to make another one before the deadline. [up]

We just got word that there will in fact be a Live-Stream with James Stant today. But this Post was only on Facebook. I don't use Facebook. Please don't forget us non Facebook People and announce it on the Forum as well :(

Yes... I personally don't use Facebook either, and recently there's been a lot of news that I have missed which was posted on the forums in the past, and now is not. Its a shame for us all non-Facebook users, please keep posting announcements on the forum. We want to see them too [happy]

Well I made a track, which I'm quite happy with as it entertains me :) but I also tried to make a scene to go around it, which failed miserably. I have the idea, but I lack execution. Still might as well have a go :p

Well, that's nice to know but rather too late in the game now to do anything about it now. I suggest that if you do any more contests like this, that this be stated up front.

Thanks for the clarification on this, Bo. I was a little worried going in that this may be a problem, but after 20 hours of work it's relieving to here it will be a non-issue.

Here's my submission! http://imgur.com/a/DgluB

Ummm Bo confirmed it on the day the competition was launched, you can't get too much more up front than that. And actually the confirmation came before the competition had even started.

These are looking fantastic. I'm starting to regret keeping my track a bit more grounded in reality! I also named it before even looking at the new scenarios and coincidentally ended up giving it the exact same name as one of them. Here's a linky to the Steam Workshop page

One question I do have about this competition; are the tracks only being examined immediately when they are received by the team or will you be giving them another look after the deadline? Mine has been updated loads of times in the 5 or 6 days since I sent the email and I would hate for it to be judged as the original version given the sheer number of improvements I have been making [happy]
