Key Binding Problem After 1.2 Patch

Before 1.2 the default mappings for 1-4 where:


1: Left Panel
2: Forward View
3: Sensor View
4: Right Panel


I left these keys alone, 'cause it worked for me. After the 1.2 patch, however, 2 is now the default for that new comm/wing menu, which was bloody annoying and I was sure it was going to get me killed. I remapped that to 5, but now 2 still won't switch me back to forward view, and I can't find anything under the control menu that toggles forward (normal) view. I know I can just repeatedly hit the keys for left/right panel view, but that's really messing with my mojo and I know it's going to cost me a ship or three.

Any assistance?

Please reformat your post and remove the 'orrible colour and font formatting. Dark grey ona black background is pretty much impossible to read. You may be using a different forum theme where it's visible, but most aren't. If you leave the colours and fonts at default what you write will be visible to all.

Comms panel focus does not close when you hit assigned button again, seem they have changed the way it works.
At the moment pressing "Esc" then key assigned to comms panel does.

And yes a pain in combat and anything that needs keyboard controls.

There should still be a key binding for forward/normal view.

Yes its a strange one. It is because when you hit 2 you go into a chat immediately so if you hit 2 again you just type 2 in the local or whatever chat your in. Certainly clunky and not working very well due to having to hit ESC then the 2 again to get out of it.

Ah... that annoying bug. During the beta of 1.2 FD indicated that they would fix it with some option somewhere. However that was the last I heard of it.

It generally only affects keyboard and mouse pilots...

Well there is an option to not automatically put "focus" in the text box, but that doesn't bring back 'normal/forward' view.
