Trying these for heat sinks chaff and scb. Lets see how it fairs.
OK. Having heat sink with Y+left stick click deselects current target. Not so good in a fight, but worth a try.
Having chaff with B+left stick click will possibly boost your ship but if you fully depress and hold the B you can avoid it.
Having scb with X+left stick click will possibly retract your hardpoints. Not so good in a fight. If you fully depress and hold the X you can avoid it.
I'm off to reset my controls.
I'm sure I'll find a use for these combos yet.
I switched B and Y so no more boost landing accidents, but also select target is on A not Y for me (I think it depends which base control scheme you go with to start) so you may want to experiment a bit if the combos are doing things you don't want them to.
My Y+leftstickclick combo for target next star system in route doesn't interfere with going to alt controls as it seems to select ialt controls and then switch them back at same time so no problem for me.
I think there are so many options available for every type of CMDR whether you specialise in exploring, trading or combat, or a multirole.
It was the best feature they added and yet, at the time, I think Gary said it was just one of the team having a lightbulb moment and saying how easy it was to implement.
More games should do it tbh.
