Keyboard and HOTAS Reference Sheet Generator

Hi - Stupid question time! I imported my binds, it generated an X55 reference sheet as usual. What do I do to get the MFD reference?

http://www.mcdee.net/elite/configs/sqpomy.binds

Thanks.

There's nothing in your binds that directly references the MFD. My best guess is that you are using mapper software to translate the MFD button presses to keyboard presses, so Elite only sees the keyboard presses. Instead of doing this you could tell the mapper software to pass the MFD button presses through to Elite, and then reconfigure them in Elite. Obviously this won't work for macros, but for any single key presses it should then show up in the reference generator.

If you want to do this then best to try it with a single key first to make sure that it works correctly before moving them all over.

Yup, spot on.

I think your way is also easier than using the mapping software, as you only need to select the mfd keys from the ED options interface.

Thank you very much.

All you need to do now, is make your tool create the inserts for the MFD..... :)

Any chance of supporting the Saitek X45 HOTAS? I know it's old, but it's still a good stick. I've considered upgrading to an X55 but seriously unsure about the twist-to-yaw - I quite like the yaw "paddle" on the back of the throttle.

Just a quick question. Using one of the configs for the CH Pro Throttle I tried to program the mini stick axis hat switch to control the Head Look. Got the button on the hat to work to turn on the head look. Got the up and down and Left to work but I'll be darn if I can get the right to work. Any of you have this problem?

If in options, I enter the Left move into the right.. and the Right into the left, I can move Right if I pull the hat left but then the right won't go view left. The hat switch works because I can see it operate on the CH control manager and the Elite options sees my move and labels it correctly (- joy x-axis for left and + joy x-axis for right).

Love this tool you built and the color was a great idea. I hope it's ok to ask this here.

You'r trying to set up digital controls on an analogue input, which isn't the best idea. Take a look at the thread mentioned at the top of http://www.mcdee.net/elite/binds/cftemq to set up the correct controls.

So, jgm, in my Ch controller software the setting can't be a "DX mode" ?

It's funny some of that worked then (the up down and left).

Is there a library of files where a person has a Ch pro throttle used in conjunction with a Thrustmaster 16000 stick? I could re-design my set up.

EDIT: What would be really nice is to use the 8 position HAT switch on the CH Pro for the Head Look. I thought the 4 position hat switch that I used would be easy.

I use a thrustmaster T16000 in my left hand, and a CH Fighterstick in my right. The application seems to not be able to identify the t16000 at all, and thinks my fighterstick is a CH throttle instead.

Frenotx, How did you do your hat switches? (for the Head Look)

I was going to try and find some unused numbers or letters to program for the 4 position hat switch and not use the DX mode.

Mine gives me an error for unsupported device and says to reference "micwvk". The device is that I use a PS4 controller as a bluetooth controller for my SRV. Thanks for the tool, I was literally looking for something like this very recently and this is perfect.

I use the top-right hat (pov hat) on my ch fighterstick.

Odd its reading my t16000m just fine but then right now I just have KB and mouse with that no throttle or second stick.

With the advent of Horizons there are even more bindings to remember, so it's a good time to generate a reference sheet for your own customised configuration.

The reference sheet generator has been updated and is available at http://www.mcdee.net/elite/ It takes a copy of your custom binds file and generates reference sheets for you for both keyboard and HOTAS. Details of how to use it are available on the site.

If you find any problems with the files that are generated, would like another product supported, or have any general comments then please put them here. Thank you, and I hope that you find this useful.

This tool is brilliant. My dad just started playing the game so this is exactly what he needs!

Well done and thanks very much!

What's the reference for your binds? I'll take a look.

Yeah the DS4 is still on the list to implement.

That's pretty nifty! I went looking into the binding file, and was surprised to find it was pretty much standard xml text. Cool beans!
I also went looking into some of the other appdata, in search of a way to shut off the docking computer music, but no dice.
Don't get me wrong, I like the Blue Danube Waltz well enough, but the first minute of it, over and over has gotten old.
