Newcomer / Intro keyboard question.

hi all....

i have a question to the controls. i have a hard time navigating through the UI anyway... i think its not only that it is new to me, it is not very intuitive.... im playing with joystick and keyboard and i have no clue to get to certain menu point without using the mouse or the standard joytick options. for example, the map. when a system is highlighted in galaxy view. there pops up a context menu over it with some symbols... i have no clue to navigate through them, because all the direction keys are blocked then by the "moving the map around" thing...

its a bit frustrating ending up to use three input devices like mouse, stick and keyboard only because its absolutely not clear to navigate through some menus....

thx in advance fellow commanders

Go to options and spend you time binding the controls. especially the UI ones. I use w,a,s,d and space for navigating the UI screens. Starport services is fine with a mouse.

I mostly just use the mouse and WASD in the galaxy map. You can just click on the buttons. You might have to select the system first or the popup menu will vanish if you move the mouse wrong.

I use joystick but in the galaxy map I use mouse to navigate around.

Have a look at the tutorials, there is one specifically for navigating the maps - it gives you such gems as left mouse button to spin round your current system, right mouse button to navigate vertically through the galaxy map and both buttons together to move laterally around the galaxy map.

It certainly made things clearer for me.

i want to navigate through it without ,mouse or joystick... still no luck, can't find out how to navigate trough this contex menu when starsystem is already selected.... all keys which are normally used to navigate through menu lines and collums move the map instead.....
