My first loss of a ship was the same. I flew into the station without lading permission (had totally forgotten to ask for it), got the warning, accidentely hit boost in my "OMG-need-to-get-outta-here" mode, survived the crash at the station rear wall. Asked for permission to land, permission denied with 5 seconds left -> NOOOOOO!!!
But, as one wise pilot whose name i have forgotten said : "One is not a true commander without having boost grounded his ship at least once into a station wall".
And even today i have my boost button at the same location
Ouch! Well, in my case I had docking permission and everything! I got the pad loitering fine because I happened to come to a full stop in the station rear over a pad, and could not turn around quickly enough.
