Killing Thargoids....

so i will combine gauss with advanced multi cannons
Bad idea as the slots can be used for more useful things like thermal vent or flak. Advanced MCs even with the synths are peashooters. It is like throwing sticks at thargoids :D For example Chief has hardpoints for 4 gauss, 1 flak and 1 TV Beam. Replacing anything here with AXMC would be a waste. Whoever designed "advanced weapons" clearly didnt have a clue about AX.

It's possible to beat a Cyclops at least just with AX MC turrets (Krait is best due to the 3 large on top). AX scanner is a must though so you can target the hearts. Once you learn how to kite it it's quite straightforward, even though Gauss's are still more enjoyable (and quicker).
 
No, you will just use gauss and other hardpoints will be filled with utility weapons such as flak launcher and a thermal vent beam.
ok what about a type 10 with 4 gauss cannons 3 advaced multi cannons with sturdy mod grade 51 flak launcher and i thermal vent beam laser
 
The thing with Type 10 is even though it has 9 hardpoints you can't shoot more than 2-3 at a time with its convergence :D It has extremely low speed, maneuverability and crap shields too.
 
Ok, so what? 1 shoot of 2 gauss cannons or 2-3 shoots of shards = heart ready, 1 more hit to heart = next stage.
Question is to survive stages properly, it's enough of damage there.
