Game Discussions Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

KINGDOM COME DELIVERANCE 2

One of the best story based medieval sim's gets a deserved sequel and it's looking promising. If you like this kind of games the first one is well worth it.
The video bellow contains spoilers for those who haven't played the 1st game.

Gameplay Demo 1 HOUR 4K

They divided the world into multiple maps. How big is each map?

Update: there's 2 maps which are: "5,6km² and 12km² playable areas compared to 14,08km². KCD2 Trosky map 60% smaller and Kuttenberg map 15% smaller."

They should've made each map bigger than the original.

To be fair, in the original game the maps were a bit too big for the content...enough to be mostly empty at any road. Lots of nice countryside with little happening outside of the story content. By the looks of it, they've tightened everything up is all with slightly smaller, denser areas to explore 🤷‍♂️

Well by comparison Stalker 2's map is 64 km2. That's a bit smaller than GTA 5 (75.84 km2). It's nice to have the freedom to roam around.

Looking forward to that as well...tomorrow (20th) isn't it?
Yes. The 20th. 4pm'ish, UK. Not that I'm looking forward to getting my hands on it....

<...glances nervously over my shoulder for Mrs PiLhEaD before chuckling.... mwah hah hah ha haah.... muttering... 'my precious'..........>

I've tried the first Kingdom Come but found the combat a bit to realistic (read, to hard) to my taste and gave up on it.
I doubt I'll ever buy this iteration, it does look very good though.
I'm playing Dragon Age the Veilguard right now, I think it's a good game, no 10/10 or goty but just good.
The combat is a lot of fun.

There's no auto-leveling of enemies in KCD like you get in a lot of games so at the beginning of the game anyone you fight will slaughter you with pretty much their first hit, you are just a teenager after all. The fighting becomes miles easier once you've found someone to train you and you start to learn how to use a sword. I almost gave up on the game because I didn't know that it was best to evade enemies until quite a bit in to the game.

Yup, once you 'learn' the various master skill moves after a bit of training with the couple of weapons and fighting instructors in the game, you can slaughter 99% of enemies with ease with any weapon of choice. You're not doing anything different or complicated...you just get a bit more competent at wafting a sword about :)

The "master strike" is the "Iwin button" but the game still pits you against numeric odds. It is not a game where opponents wait politely until it's their turn. Master strike unlocks after the Neuhof mission chain. You have to solve it to make Bernard return to Rattay and reassume his training post.

Besides the little details and the obvious labour of love that as went to KDC the overall historical accuracy, be it in the architecture or clothing, this will be crearly another gem for history buffs and anyone who facies realistic sims.

The guy talking sounds like an AI voice, not sure though.
Doesn't sound that way to me.... \o/

I'm on the fence about KCD2. I played KCD quite a bit but in the end didn't stay with it. I may pop back and give it another go, but this rarely works if I've put in enough hours the first time. I may get Red Dead Redemption 2 instead, having enjoyed RDR (on the playstation) and it being on my 'maybe' list for a while.
