Game Discussions Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

Just bought the first KCD, not my normal cup of tea as far as games go, but I do enjoy swinging a sword at folks and love the comedic brutality of games like M+B bannerlord :D
Looking forward to playing it tbh, will pick up the sequel if I enjoy part one haha :D

After playing the first one for far too much of my day, think I'll give the second a miss haha. The gameplay is just too slow for me, spending half of my playtime waiting for a certain time of day far too frequently, controls that feel really unresponsive and sluggish, and general sloppiness of the "quests" resulting in many "where/what tf do I do now?" moments. Meh.

I can see why it has it's fans, and I can see what the devs were going for, life as a peasant who gradually gets good, but I have sausage fingers and less patience than I used to. :D

You certainly can't rush through the first one. you have to practice fighting or you will get found out when you are forced into a hard fight. I'd forgotten about a fight with a bandit called Runt that you can't avoid, and I wasn't ready for it. I was getting my butt kicked until I managed to headshot him with an arrow while he was running towards me

KCD2 sold more than 1 million copies in 1 day.

You can focus on the main quests if you want to progress faster. If you need to wait you can just press T and it will change the time. Controls are more streamlined in KCD2. Quests sometimes don't exactly tell the player where to find something, but it can be solved or check guides / videos.

So 2 million copies sold so far, WH must be dancing all day by now.

Adding;

The game story and the details are really good, I will not give away spoilers but the developers clearly know how to make a good story driven game without handholding and big stupid icons hovering over every character or POI.

They really deserve GoTY for this one in my opinion.

Damn, what a game o_O it just keeps on going!

I feel I'm not even closed to the end but it's already a strong contender for GOTY 2025 special bonus for being a saviour during the days without internet, thanks weather! Totally worth itto make space for it in the SSD (sorry star citizen but bohemian call was stronger).

Some of my best screenies from the journey so far (until Godwin part): *warning, may contain spoilers!

The very first one was a selfie after learning that F1 activates photomode and admiring the gorgeous views and going from peasant to less peasant! (Cryengine is awesome who would have thought!)

Eventually made it to the wedding with the best attire possible. looking very sharp imo! Didn't scored though.

The voice acting are extremely well done, the long travelling watching the scenery and soaking in the history makes for a nice relaxing time but can get a bit tiring some times as they are kinda long (I skipped some dialogues and not ashamed of it).

The forests are simply the best ones I've played. Unreal Engine got nothing on this in terms of scale and performance. My gtx 1070 is handling it like a boss albeit not everything in high, can't wait to upgrade the gaming machine and play this at it's full glory! Probably this year!

The escape from the castle and forest was one of the highlights so far imo.

The amount of clothing options is staggering, going from peasant to knight to bookworm is funny though.

Spoiler*The game changes you from Henry to Father Godwin character and It kinda put me off (I was invested in being Henry I guess) so I feel it's a nice time to take a break from Bohemia for a bit.

I'll maybe uninstall to make way for Star Citizen which can't run in a HDD and hope KDC2 does and the save holds for later!

If you're on the fence to play and enjoy open world games this is it. Whille the story is very good even if you don't like campaign games the world is so well crafted and the game let's you explore it freely with a lot of meaningful and interesting side quests! GOTY!

Yeah, but that's not very long.

I recon finish the main quests of KCD2 first.
