Krait MK II Exploring Build Guide

Hey guys, I made an exploring Krait MK II and wanted to share to you all my build. I've went to Sag A and Colonia in it. I've had a lot of fun in personally. My Jump range on it is 57.24 ly and neutron star makes it go up to 230 ly. Please tell me what you think of the video and ship in the comments. Hope you all enjoy! :)

Only nitpick I have is that I would never go out exploring with a 2D power plant. Heat efficiency 0.94 ugh. Never.
I'd use the lowest A class powerplant I could manage with with low emissions 1 and thermal spread, and I'd take the 0.5 LY range decrease that would cost me.

Otherwise it's ok [up]

I use a 2D because of the weight and I can scoop fast and effectively. I might switch it a 2A someday but it was laying around at the time.

GR8 KR8 M8 8/8

;)

Seriously though, nice work OP. I like threads like these as I will probably turn my Krait into an explorer when the Q4 update is released. Being an inexperienced explorer, I'll need all the help I can get.

This.

The Krait isn't terrific with heat at the best of times.

2A PP and apply G1 overcharge mod' just so you can also apply the stripped-down XFX - with the bonus of giving yourself a little bit of extra juice.

*EDIT*

Just watching the video...
2D PP and G5 overcharged mod'?

That's a flying barbeque, right there.

2d oc pp.. well, if you pop heat sinks every time you are in corona you can even charge up for next jump without leaving it.
i say it works ..in theory
good luck!

Yes I know I was a 2D power plant over charged to 5 but I did this for the weight and I can fuel from stars fast and without getting to hot. I've done this many of years. So If you feel more comfortable using a 2A that is fine. It isnt to much difference and weight but I go with the lightest load possible. So just a heads up if your new or concerned!

With power plants, you generally want to use an A rated model. The reason for this is due to better heat efficiency. The 2D might be lighter, but it runs a lot hotter. A 1A is a tad heavier, but runs much cooler.

Yes, I know I know, but I'm just trying to max out my jump range as much as possible. I'm just offering my personal set up. Anyone can modify to fit there needs. :)

Didn't you apply a fast-scan mod to your DSS?

That adds more weight than the difference between 2D and 2A PPs.
