Krait Mk. II, it's now a Python analog

From the article:

“The Krait is a great all-round ship with a strong hull, powerful engines – which look super-cool – and a great load-out,” Clark continues. “It’s also less ‘conspicuous’, meaning it’s less likely to get scanned by the police compared to other ships of that size and class. It has significant straight line speed and power, as well as enough firepower to match the Python thanks to three large and two medium hardpoints. It has a really nice punch against a variety of ship types and sizes.”

So a Python competitor, designed with smuggling in mind? I like it ...

Lots of subtle hints in that video. And the one thing on my mind here is SPACE LEGS! This is probably the most comprehensive animation of commanders wandering around. We even get to see the inside of the Krait!

The ship itself looks awesome. Seems to me like a kind of smuggler ship with high manoeuvrability. Definitely something that ticks all the boxes for me.

And yeah, I know we're not getting space legs. But given what I've already seen from Frontier, these videos contain teasers for a lot more than just what they are saying. This video is screaming Space legs...Space legs...space legs...

Each time they show a teaser with people in it, they show progression. We may not be getting legs just yet, but they are definitely working on it ! [up]

It'll need a class 7 PD to compete with Python, we all remember the original version of the T10 I'm sure so hopefully the Krait mk2 will have the PD to run a Python level weapons array.
I could see a class 6 PD plus the SLF being a pretty fair competition.

Looking at the trailer the Krait Mk II feels like the Millennium Falcon form ED.

I like it, but yet an other ship that makes small ships obsolete.

3 large and 2 medium hard points and a SLF - that's impressively much firepower, that isn't needed…

Ship looks great.
Seems too small to have an SLF.
They’re just mocking us with all that walking around though :)

I'm extremely disappointed that the trailer shows a very poor example of courtesy and control when leaving the slot. It teaches young up-coming commanders that speeding is acceptable. Disgraceful !

Flying recklessly near stations is the most fun I ever have in the game. :)

Looked like a great ship, probably slow to turn but high top speed to balance it out like a mini Cutter!! Really love the downward facing cockpit it will be great for planetary exploration and it will pack a punch!!

Too much space legs!! Looked great and looked like it was rendered in game rather than the super smooth cinematics we have had before with Ram Tah etc!!

The pain!! The hopes!! The damned fears!!!! Oh well back to saving up for military hull for my new corvette!!

From the article: "as well as enough firepower to match the Python" - so not necessarily the same/equivalent cargo space i.e. possibly not another ~200t capacity medium ship which is kind of where the Python currently stands alone. Although given that the Chieftan and Challenger are more pew-pew orientated, maybe it will be...

I'm dissapointed... it's looks like we'll have another combat ship and what about exploration ships? Do we stay with ASP and DBX only?

I am waiting for a new exploration ship as well, but at least the Krait seems to be a multi-role and not a combat focus ship. I just hope it has a decent jump range.

I look forward to the class specific module slots. Hopefully this will increase the viability of class specific ships over the multipurpose ships.
