Krait Mk. II, it's now a Python analog

I'm extremely disappointed that the trailer shows a very poor example of courtesy and control when leaving the slot. It teaches young up-coming commanders that speeding is acceptable. Disgraceful !

Speeding has always been acceptable. Until the PvP Crowd complained that they had too much PvP around space stations.
They even nerfed the NPCs - "Scan detected" is no longer followed by a ramming attack.

I can't quite figure out where the medium hardpoints are firing from / located in the screenshots.

looks like in the middle of the ship on the top.

The two mediums look like at the front of the ship at the down side (very close to the cockpit.)

(Edit: the last picture in the linked article of the OP shows where the weapons are - it's a 4k picture, open it in a new browser window for all the glory details)

I need this ship in my veins why is it not out on Thursday

Don't tease us with shiny things like this, FD...it only makes the waiting more painful... X.x;

I am looking forward to this ship, however
i feel a bit sad for it lacking small hardpoints.
I found those to be very versatile and useful.

I am no friend of large hardpoint inflation,
especially not, when the chance of having a ship
with a real cool "maw cannon" is ditched for
the current streamlined HPs on top.

You know what a single dumbfire hit does there?

We will see if it can fulfill my dreams of a Krait remake.

Not necessarily power creep. Its internals might be less spacious than the python's, leaving it less versatile. We also don't know what it's flight model is. Point is even with it having the same hard points plus an slf, it won't necessarily make the python obsolete.
Exactly. We'll see in a couple days if it's really a Python alternative.

If it's a M pad ship and does come out with 3L/2M (remember the Vette hardpoint fiasco?), then I imagine it will not be able to carry the magic 180t for missions to outposts. That's most likely, given it carries a fighter bay. It also means I'm still going to fly the Python 90% of the time for mission running and BGS work. :(

But the Krait II has two medium sized hard points at the "maw".

The 3 large ones are on top where they probably have to be do to the assumed really bad pitch rate of the ship ;) Not sure how they balance the Krait II - in the article it is mentioned that it is fast. It has one large weapon more than the FAS - a ship that is fast and maneuverable. In addition to the SLF. The Krait brings serious firepower to the fight, there has to be some really dramatic downsides.

Enough hardpoints to carry all mining modules and the possibility of SLF mining ships. Might make a decent mining ship if it has plenty of optional modules slots.

Most of all I am hoping it will be a good exploration ship. Runs cool with good jump range and excellent supercruise handling.

Considering the chieftain and challenger both have an array of small hardpoints, I don't know if I'd agree hardpoint inflation is much of a problem right now.
