Krait Phantom needs bit of love

If they could release variations of the cockpit paint colour that would be perfect. Green, blue and black alternates would be great, and a welcome option if you are not so keen on red.

I honestly think its waaay to expensive for being only slightly better than an asp explorer. I think they should reduce the weight a bit more and increase its mobility in and out of super cruise a bit. It would then have a more justified price.

It's slight to significantly better in a lot of ways making the overall package notably better for a lot of roles.

Leave the interior alone! ;) It's one of my favourite things about the ship (my in-game scheme is red though, so I would say that).

Well then, there is a whole new line of cosmetics: Ship interior paint schemes and ship interior styles (messy, old, lot's of cables. Neat, sharp, clean, new. Dark, sleek, stealth).

All it needs is a boost to pitch to go with the higher speed and lower weight. Its pitch is not noticeably different from the mk2 which was disappointing. Apart from that, I find it a well balanced ship. A lot more speed, a lot more jump range, less firepower and slightly smaller optionals. To be honest, I think the mk2 could do with a small nerf, it's too good at basically, everything, AS WELL AS combat.

Phantom as it is today is one of the few ships that makes perfect sense to me, and its popularity in the ship of the year poll would suggest that most are very happy with it.

Making it smaller dimensionally is an option I like a lot though.

My thoughts exactly!

I haven't bought one, as I have no idea what I'd use it for. Unfortunately, my last few "new" ship builds have just been either explorers or cargo haulers, as I simply don't have the energy to do the engineer mat gather grind enough to build a proper ship.

Anaconda's jump range is a function of it's nonsensically light mass, something FD has never even come close to repeating with a ship that large and flexible/well armed/sturdy since. It suggests they learned a lesson there.

I'd like to see a beta for the sole-purpose of testing different methods to bring the Anaconda into some semblance of balance. I don't think jump range should be cut (the cat's been out of the bag for too long; a number of explorers out there are in remote systems that only an Anaconda with ~80ly of jump range can reach, if that range is suddenly reduced then those explorers would become trapped through no fault of their own, and with no way to escape other than to contact Support for help), but surely other aspects can be reined in to make the Anaconda less than universally appealing. Maybe cut the default fuel tank in half, or make it run hotter.

Anyway, I want to throw my hat in for the "Krait Phantom is fine as it is" crowd. I wouldn't mind improvements, but I also don't feel like they would be necessary. And I quite like the red interior.

For the sake of preventing disruption I don't see the Anaconda changing ever for the most part.

But that's fine. Between small/agile ship enthusiasts and Corvette/Cutter pilots the ship is probably lacking in other areas enough to ignore.

There is a massive difference in straight-line speed. Mine is way over 500 m/s in boost and almost 400 full pips to engines. The maneuverability could use a bit of a bump, but overall its giving me "cobra on steroids" vibes. A bump in the optional from one class 6 to class 7 would make a big difference in shields and i think it should standout that way over the Krait Mk II (which is more dps focused over defense).

I’ve always thought that it would be nice to be able customise ship interiors, beyond bobbleheads and fairy lights. :)

No medium ship should have a size 7 distributor. The Kraits are the most unbalanced crapboats because of it. Permaboost while being able to keep 4 pips on SYS all the time. Further hitpoint inflation: OP shield (6C biweave or 6A prismatic) over a huge hull. Insane boost speed (Phantom, Mamba), so you cannot catch up with it. No PIP mgmt, no skill required. The new ships, especially the latest ones (Kraits, Mamba) were the worst kind of addition to the game.

This would be great.

I keep wishing on several of my ships that I could go round the cockpits with a silicon carbide lamp or some mat black paint and try an eliminate some of those reflections.

Well after playing for a bit I have to say that only thing I would like to change is bit of pitch and yaw, especially yaw rates. Otherwise its perfect as it is.
Thanks all for feedback

My version of a Phantom shield tank. I don't consider this overpowered at all, rather weak IMO.

What the Krait Phantom needs is to have its otherwise excellent cockpit pulled out from between the cleft in its ... wings. Hard to think of a worse choice of cockpit position for what is supposed to be the new medium explorer, where pilots (especially us VR types) might be expected to want to look round and admire the view of something other than the placement of the medium hardpoints.

But man, the placement of those hardpoints is just delicious, it's like you have railguns strapped t your ears :)

I like the Krait Phantom as it is at the moment.

It needs a ship kit though. And more paintjobs... The squadron one for example...
