Kudos to the community management team!

To add my two-pence...

I'm also very impressed by the enthusiasm shown by all at FDev to 'share their toys' with us, with the sneaky peeks and live streams - what always comes across to me is the relaxed, personable, frank, fun and sheer enjoyment shown by all.

I also love the 'can we talk about that'ness?' of much of it, and the strong feeling (and heavy-hints from shiny-head-Ed) that there's way more hidden away, even behind Horizons.

Great stuff FDev, one and all. Thanks for your passion and for the journey, in all regards, that is ED!

That was around the time I joined the team, right Zac......? Coincidence!?!?!?

I know what you're suggesting and....

Couldn't agree more : FD's communication is exactly how I need it right now. I can't even believe how things improved in a few months thanks to the CM team. Kudos guys !

This team does a bang up job!
Thank you all for your hard work and commitment.....makes my enjoyment of the game better knowing you guys are there!

I also could not agree more. As I said to Zac only the other day the amount that has changed since Premium Beta is just amazing! Brett has always done a fantastic job trying to keep the forums a relatively sane place and when Ed joined things got a bit better, but with just the two of them it was still a struggle for them to keep up with the demands of the community (who are rather demanding ;)) In the last 5 or 6 months things have been going from strength to strength with the addition of Zac and now Dale as well people can focus more on specific areas and it allows smoother and more genuine communication.

I entirely agree with Zac in that we are very lucky indeed to have people in the positions of David, Michael, Mike and Sandro who are prepared to come onto the forums and have as much interaction with the community as they have done all the way from Premium Beta.

Long may it continue! and long may it continue to improve! I have every faith that it will.

Yes, the CM team is nice and very active. Lasts events and coms' are awesome. Don't forget, this team managed the implemtation of groups of players in game ! It was a very big job!

Now I want a meet the team with Don (sorry) Zac!

Thank's for all !

Hey guys,

I just wanted to post up here very quickly and say a huge thank you to everyone for their kind words.

I think the key thing to mention here is that Frontier understand and appreciate all of the players so much. They've quadrupled the size of the Community team from 1 person to 4 people over the past 5 months and I think this really shows their commitment to making sure that the players are truly connected and a part of the game for the long term.

Communication is one element of what we're doing and a lot of that is about connecting the devs and the community. We're really lucky that the dev team are very community focused. This runs from the very top all the way through development. The fact that you have David wanting to take part in AMA's and livestream Q&A's is because he is so passionate about the game and the content that the team are making. You also have people like Mike Brookes who are always keen to respond to dev update threads, go on panels and to events and listen to the community. This level of community focus runs all the way through the development teams at Frontier and it's one of the big reasons why I love working for a self-publishing studio, because the game and the players are so important.

I know it sounds cheesy but I really do believe that we as a team have the best job in the world. Ed, Dale, Brett and myself are all really excited about being a part of a great community and love coming into "work" (It's so not work) every day is just the best.

We've got more plans in the works and some big projects for next year as well as other cool stuff for this year too. Looking forward to sharing it with you.

Ultimately none of this is possible without the very awesome players that make the community brilliant so for me it's more about saying thank you to all of you who make Elite so much fun.

What he said...

But seriously, it has been very lovely reading this thread. We're very lucky to work as part of such an interesting, and diverse community - I genuinely love it. When I first started (all on my lonesome) it was a baptism by fire, and I think we all know I had too much on my plate. I didn't want to juggle every little task and do it all to the minimum quality possible (even with maximum effort). So now with all the other guys on board (Brett, Zac and Dale) it means we can all focus on the bits that we're best at and make sure we as a community are given the attention we deserve from them there developers upstairs making the entire galaxy.

I still think there's more we can do, and we're definitely going to do it! I recently passed my one year anniversary at Frontier Developments and without getting too mushy about it, it's been the best year of my life - here's to many more at FD towers, with the brilliant Elite community.

PS - did I mention that I'm doing a stream tonight at 6PM GMT and then tomorrow at 7PM GMT... did I mention that? Hello... anyone still there?

I'm just going to echo what has already been said. Yes, thanks FDev community team for involving yourselves with players and groups and making making the community experience feel a whole lot more personal. :)

Thanks for the kind words. It is greatly appreciated, it puts a little fuzzy spot in my heart. :)

There's a lot of stuff that we do here at Frontier... be it looking at one other funny - scheming and pondering up ideas (great, awesome, and well... "what?"). Writing up some awesome news or articles, drooling at what the art team has made - the list doesn't stop there though! Best of all, we wouldn't all be here today if it wasn't for you guys. It's interacting with you all here on these forums, social media, Reddit, and even in game (be it ever so passively [I'm going to get hunted in ED now]). It's a cycle that keeps us all going.

Each job has its own suffering ;)
Speaking of that... the moderators are very much so scheming something against me this very moment. ;)

Very much so this. While us four are the face of ED (and PC), there's an entire team at the office here - that is very much so devoted to making awesome content. :D

Live stream you say? What's that? I can't hear you over the sound of how awesome this community is!!

Keep up the good work guys.

Now that we've done all this sucking-up, can you now tell us when the beta starts?

;):D
Well, The beta begins on the [REDACTED] of [REDACTED] when [REDACTED].

Hey... look at that!! The censor actually worked!

Just popping by to add my own thanks and congrats to the Community Team. I've only been a part of this community since July but you guys have certainly made my time here worthwhile. :)

Yeah, chipping in too, the comms, and information have been brilliant lately, big thanks to the whole team, except of course Ed, Dale, Brett and Zac, questionable peeps, the lot of 'em..............:D

I know that I am criticizing few things here and there, directly game related or not, but despite that I must just "copy&paste" OP's post - good job, community management team! :)

You're saying people don't get passionate about accounts packages? I know I've got very, er, emotional about SAP on many occasions...

Ha ha ha ha!!! My company recently transitioned to SAP, and not a day goes by that I pine for the old system. A lot of people are leaving due to SAP.
