Kudos to the YouTube video makers

Hi,

I finally dove into the premium beta after umming and ahhing since it was released. I've been watching all sorts of videos (Sam J, Isinona amongst others) right from the alpha days and have to say, damn, you guys make it look easy!

I tried the game for the first time tonight, and after getting my ass handed to me numerous times by the Crimson Git *shakes fist*, I think I can say that I've had a bit of a rude awakening. :)

Having said that, damn, the game looks and plays niiiiiice! I can't wait to have another go at it tomorrow...and maybe get that guy!

Thanks to everyone also for the interesting forums and for what looks to be a friendly community.

Neill.

I have to agree. I dove in after seeing vids on YouTube. The game is awsome. But better still is the community. The fact that there is a community make the real difference.

Sorry if that is overtly sentimental but it's a Friday and I'm in the pub with a beer or two in my system.

Glad to see you took the plunge!

Get some of the single player combat under your belt and you'll find ol' Crimson not so tough after all. And you'll wind up making him run away too, I bet... :)

Welcome commander.

It was the same with me. The many youtube videos is what really got me in and of course the community here is great.

If you look through the archives of the newsletter, you'll see that Frontier Development (FD) highlight the works of the community. The most recent being a fictional galactic news feed that FD is slated to add to the game.

So in addition to crowd-funding, the company is also crowd-sourcing tutorials, marketing, etc. :p

Welcome. I'm also fairly new. Like the others said, the scenarios help greatly when it comes to learning to maneuver. I will agree that this community appears far more welcoming than some others and it will be great once they get general comms online.
