Lack of doom and gloom is disappointing

Just saying.

So far I've seen a thread about a minor immersion issue and a minor outfitting issue. Come on, you can do better! Where is all the drama?!

Now please don't tell me that FDEV seems to get it right, we can't have that sort of things.

IMO this is not an improvement.

I fit ADS on nearly all my ships. I take missions. Almost exclusively. I don't particularly care if I've been to the system before.

Right now if I take a salvage mission for instance, I jump to the target system. Honk, look on the system map for the mission marker and head that way.

When this goes live?

I'll jump into the system, look for the nav beacon, fly there, drop out of SC, scan the beacon, look on the system map for the mission marker, re-enter SC and fly there. Looks like a time loss for my play style.

Current system, I'd get some small amount of exploration data for scanning a system I've never been to and, if the ship I'm in has a DSS as well (some do, some don't) might get some data there that I can use at a station to jumpstart my rep gain.

New system? Nope. Looks like a credit/rep loss for my playstyle.

For me, there is no upside to this.

I tried exploring under the current system, I was 'nope, not for me'.

I may try again once this goes live, but I don't see the appeal to having to basically do a DSS on every body in the system to get them to show up on my system map.

So because YOU don't want this, everyone else has to miss out. Interesting …...

I'm currently wondering how FDev will screw up mining.

Looks like they are going to kill BGS gameplay and make the already broken mission system even worse by effectively reducing the missions in populated systems.
Nav Beacons will get turned into kill zones and explorers will have to play blind sitting ducks. Guess the best part of exploration gameplay is blowing up even easier targets…
SRVs just got mandatory for explorers - in the best case scenario, in the worst case scenario explorers will have to pile up materials only obtainable by blowing up ships in the bubble.

Everything is fine.

I never, ever uttered those words.

I simply have been stating my objections.

One of two things will happen when this goes live. I'll adapt, or I will find that the change is something I can't stomach and I'll move on.

Some people are looking forward to this, I'm glad they are excited. I'm just. . . Not.

You will get same credits and rep for the honk as before. You just won't reveal full map.

So no more honks to automatically update mission objectives?

Nav beacon scan does that. Also it is not said. Honk may still reveal that SS.

Yup, the game is dead, no doubt about it, just look at the stats.....

.....this is the right thread yeah.....?

Don't you find it odd though that updates for combat get a squeals of derision by the forum, while exploration gets no such disrespect from the PvP crowd?

Maybe because the non-PVP community is still in a state of shock that there is an update that isn't solely focused on Combat, we can't quite grasp the fact that for once FD is looking after the majority of players and not the small minority that make up the PVP crowd :D

In translation, I'm going to have to rework the loadouts, and compromises of around 50 ships I just got happy with ;)

Why does development seem to always have to go backwards in some respect?

Yes you are right, you need to complete gut all the ships you own, because you will have to replace the current ADS and DSS with an ADS and DSS

#facepalm …..

Hype and blind faith are just as misguided as doom and gloom.
There is plenty of both around here.
And threadstarters with no other purpose than to dispense sarcasm are sure to only add poison to this place.
There are nowhere near as many doom and gloom threads/posts as some want us to believe, it is just a convenient way to try and gag or disqualify any sort of criticism as doom and gloom.
Quite gross to observe really.

Kind of sidesteps the observation though...
