I was wondering about the Thrustmaster T16000m sensors. Everyone is saying they are very accurate but are the same sensors used for twist rudder on that joystick?
No, the twist axis use a potentiometer. Note that hall sensors are not always better: CH Products joysticks use high quality potentiometers for all axis, and are extremely precise (more than my old T16000m).
The problems come from the "travel" used for the axis, i.e. whether it has a wide or narrow angle. The travel is very short on the twist, which makes it hard to be precise. This is worsened by the fact that it has a quite strong resistance, making small adjustment more difficult. But with the low yaw speed in ED, I'm not sure that's a real problem.
