I noticed that the waypoint basecamps tended to be on the (permanently) dark side of tidally locked planets/moons. Is there some tactical reason for this?
Nope, best spot for waypoint are planet pole and find nice terrain elevation I few times place basecamps even 800m above planet average surface elevation.
Only few seconds to leave mass lock.
