Landing Pad Bug

Hi,

The landing pad bug is really getting to me now.

I have docked without problems many, many times but every now and then I get a fine for loitering when there is still time on the countdown to dock!

Perhaps I can live with a 400 credit fine but this time I was warned for loitering then my ship was destroyed by the station when there was at least 3 minutes left to go.:mad::mad::mad:

That lost me 12000 credits plus insurance and has put me back to 1000 credits again.

So if that happens again I will be bankrupt and without my freagle to sell to get my Hauler back.

This is not good, I have ticket the instances but have not yet had a reply.

I have seen other posts regarding this issue but now it is getting to be a game breaker for me which would be a big shame as I was enjoying myself and have spent a lot on getting a HOTAS for use in this game.

Has anyone else had similar problems lately?

Martin

I have found that if I start getting warning for loitering on my own pad that if I fly back towards the entrance and try again it normally works. I dunno if you have tried this.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply, no I haven't tried that but unfortunately this time I only had a few seconds before I was blown up by the station.8-((

I have not had a loitering warnings for a long time now. After the first couple I made sure I keep my speed up if going near any lit pad (even ones to the side or above me) and I do not lower my landing gear until I reach my pad. I use a combination of throttling down and lowering my gear to slow me down for the final approach.

Not had this problem, but quite a few times lately I've had the landing hologram not appear & the orange 'guide boxes' not appear!, usually flying around fixes it.

I am new and have only just got the hang of landing but it my biggest problem has been losing site of which is my pad. It would be useful if the number were actually painted on the pad. Old school I know, but it works. Perhaps your assigned pad could have a green guiding light to help distinguish it?

Ran into that one today. Made the n00b mistake of cancelling the docking to try to reset the system... hopefully the Jameson Memorial lasers didn't toast anyone else as I futilely scampered for the exit!

But numbers are changing every time.

The little blue circle top left of the main radar points to your pad, just as it does to the planet when you are outside the station.

What in the Blue Blazes are you looking at that you get that close to the end of the count down?:S

From the time I enter the slot to touchdown is never more than 30 seconds, and only that's if I have just snuck in and have to turn all my modules back on..... Normally 12 seconds flat, any pad!

Honestly I'd love to spend more time if there was something different to look at ... say maybe a 100 different station designs , differentiated by the major Galactic powers perhaps...... The only way I see that happening is if they let the community do the artwork for them.

So Speedup darn it!;)

Are you getting loitering warnings for being over (or it thinks) the wrong pad? I had some of these months back...

Ive already cut a support ticket relating to this but got the usual "we're experiencing high volume bla bla bla excuse excuse". I almost lost my ship faffing around inside a station waiting for the lights to show up. They seem woefully inconsistent.

How did I almost lose my ship? To be honest I was playing silly buggers and a Conda didnt watch where it was going :p

Anyone tried using a docking computer? I always land manually, and in under a minute with no fines. Drop the landing gear right as I get to the pad. But I appreciate that we don't all have docking and landing as a strength. If you're having trouble doing it manually, there's no shame using a computer to do it for you. (Assuming it works that way, never used one...)

You get the loitering notices if you dry to dock in the wrong place.

This happened to me twice now, get out quick or quit to main menu quick. You get 30 seconds before you are murdered. No rush. Usually it's voice attack mistaking my "manual dock" and "request dock" commands.
