Yea but try saying it again just a bit less hostile.. even I know that the Devs won't reply if that's the case.

they dont reply anyhow, gary gives sideways answers . no mention for xbox players , garys answer is a sale ad in a news letter and powerplay is for everyone lol. hes better off if he says nothing , its jus not his strength. then again from the state of this game right now, not sure what his strength exactly is as senior producer, its a nice title until you realize your the senior producer of a failure which is were this ship is sailing toot toot.

they seriously need a marketing guy or gal to speak for them.

Been saying this for a long time. Someone needs to be placed in a PR position. That alone could have a huge positive impact on the community, depending their ability in a PR role.

i could not agree more. it would do wonders if they got someone who not only could communicate for them, but also speak to them about customer relations as a whole. they def need help in this area, and who ever is in charge of it now is completely failing.

Gary never answered me.

That says a lot more than he thinks.

Silence is the greatest insult, Gary. I asked you to explain FD's stance on the Xbox version & you blatantly ignored it.

That makes me worry for this platform.

Not ignored, I generally don't get time during the day to read the forums, PR isn't my thing and unfortunately I'm not in a position where I can answer what is being requested. I can only comment on what we are working on and there's some great features coming down the pipe for the Xbox which I'm hoping will make the wait worth while.

It better be a hottub and minibar module for the Orca Gary or people will not be best pleased!

Worth a shot.

Gary, just why do you say that there is no ETA for ANYTHING on Xbox?

If you can't see that these guys are getting royally :):):):):):) off by the lack of information you're giving them, it makes me wonder, why did you bring this game to Xbox in the first place?

If it's a hardware issue, just say it. If it's a financial issue, just say it. If it's a desire to abandon the Xbox project, just say it.

But "Soon(tm)" isn't going to cut it anymore, man. The Xbox crowd has been very, very, very patient. I think they deserve answers. Right now FD hasn't been very honest with its Xbox customers, which confuses the heck out of me as your company does answer to us PC players very well. Even on Mac, you were honest and at least told them straight that they are not getting Horizons.

Solid answers please. Right now your silence is just plain rude.

As for ETA's, we generally do not give out long(er)-range dates/targets.

I'm sorry that we can't give you a more exact date at this point in time.

So what would you like for me to begin with? [smile][up]

An email I can send my resume? :D

Honestly, I think your customers are looking for updates on progress. I think even a chime in every now and again with a "we're still on track" would appease most. Me personally, I'm in the school of "it comes when it comes".

I think there are still others that won't be pleased with "we're still on track", so a more detailed approach would sooth even more. Maybe a "in the past month we have solved (x) bug, and are currently play testing the fix along with (y) bug patches". I get that there are some industry secrets, and business information that you folks don't want loose. Some of these forum members really just want a belly rub and reassurance they aren't forgotten.

I applaud FD trying to release quality product, but 1.5 didn't live up to that, and it has been a long while since.

I like what you folks are doing, and I understand communication is the hardest thing anyone does.

what is your long range goal with this game, do you ever feel xbox updates will become more frequent or is this what it is? why do you guys do huge updates as opposed to smaller more controlled updates? is it a money thing or is it jus a choice? what exactly has been the delay on skins, i only ask because it would bring you added revenue to use as you see fit, is this a major hurdle or has it jus been not a big concern?

what is your feeling on a beta for horizons?
what is your feeling on community goals which xbox cannot participate?

im not trying to ask too much so ill stop there, but gary these are things players would like to know as far as there planned future attachment to this game. you have a great group of fans here on xbox... feed them abit, they might jus grow buddy.

cheers and have a pleasant weekend..... or maybe some overtime???? jus kidding

Actually, we do have a spot for a CM active right now: http://frontier.co.uk/jobs/cambridge_vacancies/?artid=566&pageNum=0&blk=232 :)

I can do that, but it does become mundane after a while to everyone - repeating the same few words over and over again.

We'd rather our products be stable and functionable rather going the route of '9001 updates', that can potentially unleash numerous bugs and other issues everywhere.

Well the one big update route doesn't seem to be going that well either is it? Atleast not up til 1.5

Tell me you haven't seen the "SoonTM" jokes.... I agree it becomes mundane, and the "soon" has generated more hostility than it has alleviated from my perspective which more than proves your point. That is why I suggested something more along the lines of "we are still on track", or "we are currently troubleshooting (x) bug fixes paired with (y) patch" etc... Even if it is more generic, "soon" has synonyms :D

I totally understand the "9001 updates" being more work, effort, and heartache than it is worth. However, a lot of customers report 1.5 has broken more than it has fixed from 1.4. There has been some time between now and 1.5 and there is no news of patch work. Mostly it all boils down to "Horizon's", which in my opinion it shouldn't, unless "Horizon's" will hold all the patches/bug fixes from 1.5. If that is the case, maybe explaining "we are working (x/y/z) bug fixes into the Horizon's release" or similar would again relax the customer base that is becoming more and more agitated.

There isn't a perfect solution, and you cannot please everyone all the time, (I work in a service industry that is very customer experience focused for the past 10 years, I can tell you stories), but something more than "soon" more frequently would probably ease some tensions.

*about the job, I don't have all the experience requirements... and I don't know how I would attain them without being hired for the job :D

Hey guys,

First of all I would just like to apologise to everyone that feels downhearted about the lack of information regarding the Xbox One updates.

I truly *truly* do understand the frustration that you're feeling. I can understand that it comes from the best possible place which is that you want to be able to play and enjoy certain features and content. Whether that be the features to the current game like paint jobs or being able to explore planets and with the Horizons season pass.

The reason we haven't given an additional update past the previous ones is because we don't have any dates to share just yet. I understand that can be frustrating and I know that some people just want to know it's still in the being worked on.

The one thing I can say, if for any reason there has been a change to the progress that we're making, if it looks as though we find an issue that stops or blocks development we will let the community know and we would do it at the earliest possible opportunity.

Luckily I can say that this is not the case. The development continues to be ongoing and the team are working really hard to deliver features and content on the Xbox One version of Elite Dangerous.

Gary has previously said that we are aiming for Q2/Q3 to bring Horizons to Xbox One. This is still going to plan and if there are any changes to that then we will certainly let you know. I'm really hoping that we'll be able to give you more information in the near future but for now there's just a little more work to be finished before we can give you some dates with confidence. I'm hoping you'll be pleased when you hear the news.

I would just like to say that Gary really does value and respect the community and nothing would please him (or all of us) more than being able to share the dates and details with you. I have the upmost respect for Gary, he lives and breathes Elite Dangerous on Xbox One and I think that shows by how active he is in this community.

I hope that helps clear things up a little and in the meantime if you need anything at all, don't hesitate to get in touch with Brett (or myself) if you need anything.

Thank you for taking the time.

Maybe you folks should look into a "Dev note/update" type sticky that relates Xbox specific information. I know I have seen it requested a few times, but there is always confusion about Xbox being included unless it is specifically noted with the current system. Also, there is some track record of Xbox not always being included; paint, private, bobbleheads, etc... The thread could be updated weekly/bi-weekly and maybe even include some notes about what specific features or bugs are being worked out in the time between patch and expansion releases. Might save you folks and the community some frustration and having to reply to threads such as this one.

Thank you, for the answers.

See this is all the Xbox community wants right now. A bit of acknowledgement.

I know it takes time, but it really goes a long way to make the effort.
