Large guild question

Fair enough, that's makes parsing your post much, much simpler, thanks.

Yea, safe to click that ignore button. Anything this person says is completely irrelevant, outdated, and unreliable since they don't even play the game.

EDIT: Ahh that felt good - less updates that will no doubt simply remove nonsense and filth. I highly suggest everyone else do the same!

They haven't really added anything significant or jaw dropping since 2.1 beside tweaking a few notches left and right and a couple of quality of life changes and adding useless flying carpets.

You don't need to be buzz lightyear to keep up with the below-average close to zero content. You read the patch notes and you save yourself some SSD space.

It's still Elite Dangerous same as good old 2.0 but with a 15 sec cutscene and a giant green flying pancake and no silent running.

Too slow, he hit that list a long time ago...

so do you think it's fair to assume we can call it a bad game or half of a good game with ''potential'' (like old pizza on the table) ?

It seems that it is only you that doesn't like the game. I for one love it and will continue to play it with all the future seasons and what not till the servers get switched off, and then I will play it solo or via my own server.

In the end people still stop listening to you because all you do is moan how you don't like the game.

Oh really, tell me more princess [yesnod]

I know I sound like I don't like Elite but in reality, I care for it or I wouldn't waste my time contributing to the community once in a while. You don't fix it by praising it everyday and without being critical and complaining about the bad updates, the redundancy and the shallow gameplay elements. Some people don't have the pleasure, the skills or the time to write a 2000 essay about what we could change in various details. I just don't have the brain energy at the moment to do it to be honest.

It's simply easier to point out obvious and broken flaws. I don't get paid for (x) amount of words I post here but believe me if I was working at frontier there's plenty of thing's I'd love to change or improve and I'm quite sure many others feel the same way and are not particularly happy with the direction of the development.

You know some of the most critical and loud players in this community are the reason why some of the changes in 2.1, 2.2 and soon 2.3 are going to be in the game. If it wasn't from the outcries of hardcore fanbase, pressuring and being highly critical of the game then we would probably still have missiles that blow up ships instantly because some people think it's cool.

I'd rather get blocked by the few insignificant and irrelevant cry babies to discuss with the more open minded individuals.

Tough cookies for sure, salt is for the strong minds not the weaks.

To the OP

Whilst there is no ingame functionality for "guilds" or player groups, it has not stopped folks from getting together and forming them. I'm one of the leaders of a playergroup with just under 1000 members, so some pointers:

Use http://inara.cz/ to setup and maintain your wing (aka guild) http://inara.cz/wings
Use Discord for text and voice comms

Optional
Submit a request to have a minor faction put in game. As others have said, there is no tangible benefit from owning a faction, but playing the BGS can be quite an art, especially when you encounter other player groups

If you are into player group politics, there are tons of things you can do, alliances, enemies and so on.

As for doing "stuff" together, yes instancing can be a pain, but when it works, its glorious. Have a watch of 2 of my groups videos (and just to point out, all the ships and buggies are player controlled in the videos).

Oh and one last thing, Frontier do seem to be interested in player groups, the larger ones have access to a dedicated Frontier Discord server, so make of that what you will.

Listen, sonny, if that's yer general attitude, then it's only going to make me double down on the anti-guild opinion, because with an attitude like that, sunshine, yer not endearing yerself to those who you REALLY need to appeal to - namely the game devs.

And I don't need to justify my opinion to you either - who the frack do you think you are, matey? It is what it is and I stand by what I say - guild support would RUIN the game for most players - for THIS game.

Have a nice one o7

I was going to reply to your point but then realised you don't actually know how to hold a conversation.

Your opinion carries about as much weight as a racists view of foreign cultures. Filled with nothing but hate.

Probably not as much as racists view but you could say the dude doesn't understand very well what gaming is all about...

The simple fact that players are banding together without being able to create a guild... should be a strong indication that guilds/corps would be absolutely fantastic and work very well in this large universe filled with billions of stars. There's much that could be done in terms of story, content, PVP, PVE, missions...etc

lol - What happened to your rep bar?

I was talking about the user warning system! man, why you gotta do me like that.

It's not fair!

mutliple sauces exist, they go great on BBQ to. A couple of dev livestreams have them, dont have the link handy but i do remember seeing references in the past
Then go find a link and make it handy. And going to need something a little better than a livestream. People will say a lot of things to please an audience.

Tbh, I don't feel ED is a bad game, and I still play it from time to time. I just don't have faith with FD and the stuff they're doing. What started out as a game with real potential (way back in the Alpha and PB days), has now turned into one hell of a mess. The lack of immersion is my greatest bugbear. Though I am able to ignore most of it, how many things will FD implement that sometimes can't be ignored, such as nonsense like hologram handwavium insta-transfer over 40,000LY, or the third-person arcade shoot-em-up?

As for this hologram nonsense, when we instantly appear at our last port of call after our ships go pop, instead of FD implementing escape pods, how long will it be before they use this handwavium excuse to say that we are all still on planet "X" using telepresence to command drones over vast distances? Feeble excuses = lazy programming IMO.

Thank God I have the LXP because, until FD implements an expansion where my jaw will literally drop to the floor, I won't spend any more on ED. :)

Which audience? i really do hope, guilds or player controlled spaces will never come in any iteration. I even think that the player controlled ports in colonia are too much.

Having a difference of opinion is how the world works, in case you handn't noticed or you live in North Korea or parts of China. A difference of opinion is why you don't live in a dictatorship, why you don't die of cholera, why penicillin was even invented and why doctors wash thier hands and sterilize thier tools before operating on you, after operating on someone else.

A difference of opinion is why your parents don't have 15 kids (several of which would have died from various viruses that are normally fatal in children without... wait for it..... penicillin) live in a shack in the middle of a field with no electricity (it hasn't been invented), and all the farming you do is done by hand (no machines, petrol hasn't been invented yet either let alone all the technology required to drill for oil).

and about a million other things that wouldn't have happened if people all thought the same way.

So forgive me but go get yourself an education before posting such a monumentally naive post again.

And tell your "teachers" they clearly need to try harder; or you need to pay more attention in class.

and BTW - I'm guessing you've missed the hundreds of thousands of posts from other people since the beta regarding how many people dislike aspects of - or the entire game.
