Large/Huge Multi-cannon Appreciation Thread

Save your credits boys and girls! I just know these new weapons are not going to be cheap! A D3/T Beam laser already at 19 million. An A4 Plasma Accelerator at 13 million etc.

Something tells me it's going to be cheaper to fire a few tonnes of gold at the enemy rather than open up with one of these babies.

Totally worth it though :D

Yeah, and everyone will be calling "NERF THE FDL!!! NERF THE CLASS 4 MULTICANNONS!!!"

Never did get that. The other night my mineaconda got attacked by a wing of 3 (I think a conda and an FDS and I dunno what - I didn't scan them) and I was pretty neatly pounded to pieces. Maybe we should nerf wings. Because 3 on 1 works too well.

Hey, combat's not even. If it was, nobody in their right mind would do it.

I really hope they sound sample a GAU 8 Avenger for these.

Yeah! A GAU in vacuum, what would that sound like!?!?!

I'm hoping they haven't yet announced all the coming weapons, but still these guns look amazing, really looking forward to getting a couple on my FAS!

Now I'm extra annoyed at C3 multicannons. I just realized that I am totally going to put one in the chin hardpoint on my Python. >_< Noooooooooo!

I want a very high pitched : VRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEErrrrrrrvvvv

Thank you. Thank you everyone and goodnight. * bows *
I don't think so. From the look of it, at least the C4 one doesn't have rotary barrels. It's more like the four-barrel AA guns the Navy has, these days.
I think it will fire the bottom and top barrels alternately, I reckon it will have higher ammo velocity than ordinary cannons and that each barrel will have a damage similar to c3 cannons. So it will also sound like four cannons taking turns in firing, only a bit faster.

That C3, well, I would go with "VRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEErrrrrrrvvvv" :)

I just hope they come in all 3 configurations. Fixed, gimballed and turrets.
I think to have read, that all new huge guns will be fixed only in the beginning.

Like Navy AA guns or like the turrets of the Millenium Falcon?

I'm getting sick just thinking about this.

I still think a single Vulture shouldn't even have a small chance against an Anaconda ( or even smaller ships  Insanity !). This is not balance, it's just dumb.

It has no chance if it can't keep behind the Anaconda. A man with the right equipment can take down a tank as long as he keeps out of the line of fire. It's not so dumb

Now I have to get a Diamondback Explorer, terrible ship though it is, give it a graphite paintjob, and fit it with a class 3 gimballed MC and 2x class 2 Dumbfire racks for ground attack missions. It'll be like playing Desert/Jungle/Urban/etc. Strike all over again, but in space....

Why? In a small fighter vs Anaconda fight, the small fighter pilot has to be a lot better than the Anaconda pilot to win. Why shouldn't they have even a small chance?

Otherwise there would literally be no point flying a small fighter, and every CMDR in open would fly a 'Conda, Corvette or Clipper, which would make the game pretty boring.

I think I'm going to need better thrusters to keep going forward as I have a sneaky feeling the recoil on these could be 'significant'.

Then again, perhaps I should just look upon them as 'breaking assist'.
