Are we ever going to get bigger wings or possibly groups of wings? Trying to play with more than 4 never works and its negatively effecting my community!
Who cares for consoles?
Welcome to the new era of gaming![]()
or at least make servers pickable, so we can all play in the same instance
There’s already been a fair amount of discussion on what was revealed in the article. One aspect was the why we selected four pilots as being the wing size. When it came to deciding on a maximum wing size, we decided that four was, in this particular case, the magic number. In addition to the obvious benefits of getting multiple wings into a single session and ensuring that a single wing can always be outnumbered, there was the less sexy, but equally real issue of making sure the feedback for wings integrated well with the HUD.
When wings was released they said that 4 was the magic number. It's deliberate to prevent wings from dominating.

Incidentally in response to the console thing. When you use it as a knee jerk response for every query/argument it gets tiring and people pay less attention when you may have a genuine point.
It just makes the game less enjoyable,we cant form big groups or wage war on each other. We cant all have fun together. The reason I blame consoles is that's the only valid reason I can see for it, they need corporations in this game. Player made factions and player populated systems. If they want us to do anything we want we should be able to branch out and have our own factions and build our own systems up from the unpopulated areas.
You need to bring some logic to your argument though.
The reasons given (in February) were that it was due to balance and the HUD. Why do you think those arguments are invalid and that consoles are the real reason?
Maybe that would work, in larger groups you cant leave a system without breaking upI would like to see larger wings in combat related or PvP/PvE mission based areas only. Out in the big black and supercruise keep them to 4 people.

If this discussion turns into another "Guilds in Elite Dangerous" thread then it will be merged into that thread.
I have seen a couple of Wings of 8 NPC ships now - seems AI pilots can cope with a busier HUD.
Wouod struggle to work on a console.
It will have several modes including 12 player Deathmatch, 6v6 Team Deathmatch and Capture the Flag and will be designed for competitive play with matchmaking and leaderboards.
