Launcher won't download game

All,

I have the steam version (1 account) of elite and the frontier version (1 account) and steam works fine.

I am unable to get past 20% download on the frontier version, and so I can't play

I have disabled Zone Alarm, I have 1gb download speed and am not being throttled.

What do I need to do, please?

have you linked frontier account to steam,have you set up a acount wih frontier worth a mention, others may know better. good luck.

suggestions
try the various check boxes in the launcher options settings, cache check for eg
try ticked & unticked
temp disable anti virus

I also have a Steam and a Frontier account and I run ZoneAlarm. FDEV will tell you to turn the Cache Check and Virtual Cache off. It does not always work. Whenever I update I turn these off as well as the Multi-Threaded download. ZoneAlarm may or may not interfer so I turn it off for the download. (ZoneAlarm does not like Elite Dangerous).
I then proceed with the download for say 5 minutes then stop the download. This downloads the essential files needed ... eg data.ovx in the WIN64 folder.
If your steam account and your Frontier account are both Odyssey then the files are the same. Since the Steam version works, copy the folders in the WIN64 folders (i.e. 00 ....... 09) from the Steam account into the Frontier account. Do not copy the data.ovx file. Start the download in the Frontier account and it will complete in a very short time as it is validating only. I have been doing this for years and it works every time.

I see that this now results in being diverted to another website (formcrafts) after one selects the game title. Is that cause for a "doom thread" do you think?

I hope they don't muck things up too much, FDEV support have always been top-notch up to now.

Hmm, I see what you mean, the interface has changed. It does allow you to open a ticket, though. I didn't go all the way through the process, but it appeared to be working. I assume it gets sent to the same folks as before.

I recently had a support issue for a different Frontier game (Stranded:Alien Dawn), and I recognized the name of the support person who helped me (Ikaros). I've seen that name before when I needed Elite Dangerous help, I believe.

Anyway, the support agent was able to help me, and was very patient and knowledgeable. Seems like the same crew.

This was resolved.

When I launch Steam, I am presented with something like "use steam account or use another frontier account." I chose the latter and can now use my steam account for all three.

It will probably mess up some logs, but I can play on all three now.
