Lave and docking...

Could you try a spell checker with your next contribution ? Or is it par for course that you must sound like a muppet ?

Throwing abuse about isn't constructive, even if we get annoyed at the responses.

I only point this-out because you spelt "losing" as "loosing" in the original post. So we all live in glass houses and need to reign it in a little, please.

Old players do not mean experienced players. Actually for the sake of the argument 1984 players are unlikely to be very clued up on what gaming is like these days. I enjoy PvP and I love dying at the hands of another player whether the fight is fair or not. But if all game mechanics point to stations as being a 'safe' zone and some muppets find a way to exploit that to use station interiors as their only PVP win, it needs to be addressed in either of 2 ways... give me a way to fight back... which currently lacks... or circumvent their ability to exploit this quickly...

But hey Dev's are aware and they can't be bothered to make this a priority before 1.1 it seems...

I take exception being an 'original elite' player.
The game has been out over a month now, the devs know how the game is being played/exploited and what players like/dislike, and I expect a lot of issues will be addressed in th1.1 patch in a couple of weeks.
I am confident The dumbfire missile/landing exploit will certainly get some attention.
It's frustrating to be on the receiving end of an exploit, when the next shiny game comes along these idiots will leave as quickly as they arrived, low attention spans you know ;)

I had this tonight the docking computer took over i was just in the station and boom i was down to 73% hull.
Lucky for me i had switched off the point defenses after reading another thread a few days ago about the same thing.
If some one gets off doing this then that's their choice they paid for the game just as you did ,if you cant take it go back to solo.

Rep point for the Charlie Hebdo reference :)

Your probably right, I have no idea whats going on, All that time I spent in Combat Flight Simulator on dial up connection. Imagine my horror when they eventually closed the servers.

And now, how on earth am I managing to survive in World of Tanks with my elderly brain struggling to understand what gaming is all about these days....oh wait, some of us have been Gaming before some of you were born and in those long ago days before electricity was invented we were playing combat games that required your imagination and a lucky roll of a die.

One advantage we pensioners seem to have over you young whippersnappers is.......Patience.......We have learned that all things come to those who wait. Blimey ive managed to wait 30 years for this game I can wait a bit longer for the devs to continue their work, and in the meantime, I enjoy what they have provided for me so far.

For a pirate and a heavy forum poster you should know there's countermeasures for this.

- Always 4 pips to shields with shield cells ready, point defense off
- Outside the station scan for all-dumbfire CMDR ships, pay special attention to people who have hardpoints out
- If there are no all-dumbfire CMDRs, dock as quickly as possible
- If you see someone deploy hardpoints preemptively spam your shield cell

But then again it's easier to cry on forums than to think of ways to protect yourself next time

Just +1 to that gentleman.

Heheh, fell victim to the dumbfire+point defence=lave station -exploit. A few rares floating around the letterbox, grab'em while you can. :D
