Lave -- High Traffic Systems?

Man the journy from Eravate to lave for some better piracy targets and not really impressed. Is Lave a high population trading zone? Or is it systems around Lave?

So far, Eravate and Kremainn had more people.

Just curious. Thanks.

I made a similar lengthy trip from Athiol area for similar reasons. The first night I arrived (on the weekend), it was very busy with dozens of players and more NPCs. Last night it was almost empty, and I saw only one player in three hours of play in Lave and neighbouring systems. Very strange, not sure if it is a weekday/weekend thing or an actual bug where I am not seeing all the players in the system (Elsewhere I rarely see more than one, unless I am in one of the starting systems).

Net code needs more attention I think. I was in lave and surrounding 'old worlds' for 2-3hrs last night and only saw about5 cmdrs, managed to interdict 2, one escaped. I was bounty hunting so only going for 'wanted' ships.

The times i player I actually see tons around Leesti. Mostly Fighters not many Freighters...

There's absolutely no good reason to play open with a freighter. I was "happily" pirated until I lost my freighter, then just switched to solo mode for hauling. Fool me once...

Yeah, I've always been about Open game play only, but since the option is available, I am now feeling the erg to do some trading in Solo with my new type-7 until I get the cash for the Clipper. I mean it's hard not to for anyone who is remotely goal oriented in a game with lots of progression. People will take that path of least resistance and Trading gets a HUGE advantage by going solo, unlike every other role in this game...but we've all beaten that horse now haven't we...

Hmm, not so sure I did see 2 type 6 around the area so maybe it's just a case of poor net code atm and maybe last week or 2 they were learning the ropes before coming into open.

Not sure if it is just people not getting into your instance... I generally see 1-2 people in supercruise most times in Lave and the systems around it.

Lave and Leesti (and maybe Diso?) are good systems to target since they both have rare commodities, traders swing by to pick up these.

Eravate and Kremainn will have more people. They're right by the starting system, and a lot of people really haven't gone far.

Pirating rares is a lot more lucrative than normal commodities though.

Just got a rare hauler in a cobra. Wow, rares are a nice profit. Escaped 3 times.... final time he pulled over because of my last warning message. Still, not as many people as I had hoped.

I'm not a pirate, and I can't believe I'm trying to help, but what you need to do is go to Delta Phoenicis and either pull people out of SC right after they jump in near the star or do the same one jump away. Check the traffic reports in neighboring systems. A lot of people in T6s and Asps are using their superior jump range to trade exclusively between the rare systems and will kindly bring you expensive goods from 150+ light years away as they travel to Delta Phoenicis. It is one of the most popular rare spots because it's at a good range from the other rare producing systems. A few tons of Eridani Marine Paste go a long way.

Yes, dont sell your rares when your T6 is full of them at any other station that sells rares. Choose one very close and sell them there instead and then go to the rares system empty. Ive got very good at escaping interdictions on my final approach due to practice as lots ov CMDR Pirates have had their greedy little thieving eyeballs on my stash. So now I go elsewhere to sell...

They are indeed. I rather think that pirating anything that isn't rares is a bit pointless. There's a factor of 2-3x in the profits from rares vs regular commdoties, I find, and there's no real disadvantage to the pirate as they've already been moved usually.

I rather think the black market prices of other commodities should be increased to compensate. Alternatively, it should actually have some depth put into it. For example, two large reasons for black-markets in the real world are rationing and tax. Here in the UK there was a black market for luxury foodstuffs during the second world war due to rationing, and currently there is a (not very significant AFAIK) black market for cigarettes, due to the high tax.

I guess it slows you down a bit, but is much safer.

Net code is just fine, just need to tweak your router :) i see a lot of people in Lave and vicinity, especially Orrere

That may fix some issues, but all of the multiplayer bugs in this game are certianly not fixed by a port foward. :-/

I will check this out, thank you

Should have mentioned, I am not a pirate - I made the trip for bounty hunting and to check out possible trade routes for my currently stored Type 6. I can give you a list of a lot of systems to go to where I won't be if you want them.. :p
