Just finished listening to episode 101. Two small points I wanted to take issue with:

1) re: Grant's speeding/npc ramming room 101 complaint - what everybody failed to point out is that you only get fined IF YOU ARE SPEEDING! So the parking warden analogy does actually work ... it's not at all like the parking warden moving your car ... YOU WERE SPEEDING == YOU WERE ILLEGALLY PARKED. Don't want a fine? Keep your speed below 100 (yeah, like I ever do that ... but it's the principle of the thing).

2) re: FD's 2.1 delay announcement, you raised the quality issue and then had a discussion about whether you thought the quality of Horizons had been particularly sub-standard ... but, I don't think they said they needed to raise the standard, only that they needed to maintain the quality (the implication being that the standard of what they've done so far has been fine).

Lave Radio Presents - Alt.Lave Episode 1 - Planet Coaster Alpha 1

Hey Folks,

The pilot Episode of Alt.Lave is now live on Audio and Video .
The new Ad Hoc show will focus on video games, movies, tv shows, fictions and anything else remotely topically and worthy of an episode.
The first episode is a first look at the Alpha 1 release of Planet coaster.

And (because I haven't said so on this thread for some time), many many thanks for all your hard work again in the past 12 months. Very much appreciated. Can't wait to see the mighty ASBO Orange Sidewinder flying around Lave Station - massive congratulations - you deserve that (and your own faction - even if it is proving very hard to get up from 7%)

The Alt Lave was great - I didn't manage to watch live (I am told it's not such a good idea when driving) but enjoyed it on the way to and from work.

Hi guys,

You keep my Elite Dangerous world alive as ive been unable to play for a long time... I only get to listen to them as a podcast, not live, with you Hutton and Radio Sidewinder it fills my week with laughs end frivolity...

Im wondering whats happened to Lave Radio Episode 103? Its almost time for 104, which should go out tomorrow.

Or was 104 not recorded?

There wasn't a show last week due to crew commitments and availability (probably Elite Meet had a fair amount to do with it).

But look on the bright side, double the content this week!!

Nice episode.

I absolutely agree with Ben (at least I think it was Ben) who said that one thing he really enjoyed about the Hutton Endurance Rally was the teamwork/route planning aspect. What we did in the Buckyball Racing Club was to typically have a full wing with one guy driving the SRV, one guy flying above and slightly behind (to keep an eye on the SRV and to call out impending hazards/course corrections), one guy hovering about 5k ahead at the next waypoint (to act as a beacon for the SRV) and the last guy studying our carefully planned routemap ..

.. and working out waypoints for the long term route (as it happens, because of technical issues, there was also a fair bit of holding the fort while various people jumped out and back into the game in order to sort out instancing problems).

Oh, and as it transpires, we also had a covert 5th member of the group (I'm looking at you Timmy :p) who can be seen popping into view around the 26m30s mark in this video :eek: ..

I just loved the professionalism in the teamspeak chat and was so proud to be a member of that team.

Now all I need to do is work on my average ground speed for the next one (see my diagram in the Hutton Truckers facebook group) :D

Re: taking part in an event this long when you can only spare a couple of hours, that's exactly what I did. I had a slot between 3pm and 6pm and basically hooked up with the guys, acted as spotter for a bit, did an hour and a half of driving, passed the baton mug and then went for my tea.

Aye that was me. Most of the time we just has one person driving and one person providing close support. But for the more technical parts we had One person several KM up in the air seeing the 'big picture' and directing a 2nd ship to provide a ground level waypoint and a 3rd ship, still hovering behind the srv as close support. At some points (going over ridges with km drops at either side) we were edging forward only 10m at a time. Crazy fun!!!
