Is Lavecon always around the same area? (Kettering/Northamptonshire) and can anyone tell me how much a ticket costs for a 2 day pass please.
I just had a look and if I book in advance and travel early Saturday there & evening Sunday back its ~ £60, I think when the wife asks me what I want for my birthday next year rather than "I can't really think of anything" I will ask for a "Lavecon" lol. Although I might add in Christmas present for the hotel too, I will keep the beer budget away from her eyes though
.Frontier lawyers have look at their contract with Microsoft and found a little loophole, preview period counts towards their exclusivity period. Expect that loop hole to be quickly close by Microsoft lawyers during their next round of exclusivity deals.

I cannot imagine that you will get any more clarity than we have already had. Zac has confirmed that there is no 'trick' in the wording. Some have suggested that the most parsimonious explanation is that CQC for the XBox will be released later than we currently expect, so that the PC version (which FD have indicated is expected for 'the holiday' - presumably Christmas) will follow on quite soon after the XBox version.
Ah, yes. I misinterpreted the meaning of what was said. I read it to mean CQC for PC would be released after the full release of Elite: Dangerous on PC as in the game leaving the Xbox Preview which could be months after the release of CQC. That's definitely good news. It will only be a matter of weeks.
... but in the mean time, the audio books of the Elite Dangerous franchised books are really very good, especially given the resources. With fine voice actors who can play lots of parts, and official noises from the game, along with other sound effects, they are as good as most radio plays.
What I mean is that Microsoft (and Sony and Nintendo) when they sign a exclusivity deal with a third part game developer specifies the length of the exclusivity deal, usually it 3, 6, 12 and 18 months but I have heard of one being 24 months long.
If Frontier signed a 6 month exclusivity agreement with Microsoft it usually means that the content can only appear on other systems after 6 months after release.
In this case it might be that Frontier might have found that the contract they signed doesn't ban them from counting the beta (preview) period as part of the exclusivity period, I'm certain this will be change in the future contracts.
If it is a 6 months exclusivity period, Xbox one I think will be release in September, I predict CQC will come in November .
They have already said 'the holidays': i.e. in time for Christmas. So November or early December. The way that allows them to say the PC CQC will be soon after XBox is probably that the XBox CQC is not going to be as soon as we expected. Perhaps. Maybe. Hell, they could surprise us all and announce it will be in August. The exclusive deal is likely to be for the game (i.e. if you want it on a console, it has to be an XBox during that period), rather than for a feature of the game. So there may be no real restrictions at all.
Awh man, i'm stoked. So stoked i'm ready to be disappointed in how boring and lackluster CQC is going to be. I guess that could be the big announcement they have in store for Gamescon on August 5th. I mean, i'd rather something else, some sort of a glimpse into what's in store for around Xmas to mark the year the game has been released but... Dunno. I guess CQC is a nice announcement...? Would only be nice if they said "Yeah, it's being released tomorrow!"
They have also during E3 said that CQC would come in July and the only reference to holidays was "before the holidays". Everytime before when they have started to show of in-game screenshots of an upcoming build it has always been weeks away, not months.
This still doesn't tell us when it will come for PC since we don't know what "as soon as we can" entails.
"Timed exclusive" could also mean that XboxOne is the only console it will be available on for the moment.
Too many unknowns here to say anything really...

CQC isn't "the announcement".
"The announcement" is suppose to be something secret (CQC isn't secret) they are working on for PC/Mac that the majority of the dev team is working on (CQC isn't worked on by the majority, it's a smaller group within the dev team).
That would certainly be a secret, but...no.

If I was looking at the DDA, I'd hope for either damage models or shield zones. However since the DDA is .. at best a dream list, it probably won't be.
