Just a heads up: The location on the map in the directions link is dodgy.
Gloucester Road is a pretty long one (2 and a half miles long, in fact), and the Thistle Hotel is at the very end of it, just off the roundabout where the A40 begins (or ends if you're coming in from the M5)

Random Thistle Hotel trivia: It was used for all the external shots for Crossroads in the early 80's (after the original burned down in the plotline) when it was known as the Golden Valley Hotel.
Legend has it Benny still roams the corridors at night looking for his spanner.
