Lavian Brandy Refresh?

So I just unlocked Didi Vatermann and need to get the 50 units of brandy. Got 5 so far. How often does the station resupply?
This is obviously an important engineer with grade 5 shield boosters and I want to grind this out as quickly as possible.

When you make that delivery, and go back it will be refreshed, which isn't a huge deal her system is only one hop from Lave. Kamitra cigars is a much longer journey to that engineer. I don't know if rares refresh until you get rid of the ones in your cargo, I've sat in stations overnight with some in my cargo, and I couldn't buy any the next morning. At least they changed it and it's down to 50, I had to do 200 Lavian brandies, but I hit it at a good time and was picking up 10-12 at a time.

Rare Commodities refresh every ten minutes. There is a hard cap for each Rare, and once you have that amount in your cargo hold, they will not sell you any more.
There are ways to get around the hard cap, however.

it's a 6 ton refresh every 10 minutes. Luckily the demand was reduced from the earlier insanity, but this is still an extremely dumb bit of filler.

Seriously Sandro, is this adding value to the project? Is this fun / rewarding / challenging to the players?

I am perplexed by the requirement to repeat the same trips for the engineers that want rares. Pure grind. How FD concluded this adds to the game and user experience/enjoyment I simply cannot imagine. Baffled. It would be really interesting to hear a response from them, but.......

As others have mentioned, there is a hard cap. Right now I think it's 6 units, once you have that amount in your hold, they won't sell you any more.

The easiest way to get more (without having to deliver them and keep returning) is to find a willing cmdr in game. Have them sit 10km outside the station, buy your allocation of 6 units, fly out to them, drop the cargo allowing them to scoop it, fly back to the station and repeat until you have the amount you want. Have your friendly cmdr then drop all the cargo you've gathered and then you're free to scoop it all.

Get a few buddies to help if you can. Or, just grit your teeth and get through it, a few tonnes at a time. At least it's a short trip to Leesti from Lave. Unlike the great Broo Tarquin Fujin Tea Grind! *Claps hoof over bovine brow*

HEHE, funny how people forget tricks like that huh. LOL

The idea behind it is to get players to trade, Just like the commodities you have to mine. The prerequisites to open the engineers force and encourage players to try all aspects of the game. Its actually not a bad way of getting people to try something maybe outside their comfort zone.

Would you reference your source for this conclusion. (If it was trading, as you suggested, then why not have traded x tonnes, akin to x tonnes mining, x combat bonds etc).
But, as I said, I am perplexed by the need to repeat the same trip over and over - and how this represents enjoyable game play. Particularly when the rares you can carry are deliberately restricted, which (for the longer trips) encourages you to not play the game while you wait for the next batch up to your max cargo allocation. Pure senseless chore.

I agree it doesn't show the game at it's best. But it's not that big a deal - it takes a couple of hours and then it's done for all eternity. In return, you get access to G5 bootser mods...the good stuff.

Yes it is just time. I am intrigued by the design philosophy behind the introductory quests and their nature. At best they are irritating rather than integral to or enhancing game play - in my opinion of course. (You have to collect the materials for the upgrade after all. At least these are integrated into the task - as opposed to Palin's stare at the doctor who screen for three hours because I say so, for example.).

They are a bit hit and miss. I didn't like the Rares deliveries for Didi Vaterman and Broo Tarquin. But I really liked others e.g. the exploration requirements for Palin and Farseer. I had never done exploration until that point and found myself rather enjoying it.

Just a quick one for those that play solo...
If you take one less than the maximum allocation, the whole lot refreshes at refresh time...

So, for example, Fujin Tea currently allocation is 5, take 4 then wait and get another 5.
9 per trip is slightly better than 5.

It is a complete grind fest and a poor design decision IMO
