Good morning (or good whatever your clock says) I joined EDSM in 2018 and never uploaded but one journal. Do I have to go back and upload each journal? Certain journals? Or should I remain a slug of a record keeper? Cheers! Thanks for any assistance.

People suck. Don't give them anything that would require a semblance of effort.
I deserve every word of it.
EDDiscovery will sync your journals for you, the lazy persons tool!
You can drag and drop huge numbers of journals directly to the web page.

True, but then you have to keep doing that every time you want to update EDSM and the OP was looking for a lazy way, and just installing EDDiscovery once will do that for you!
As a console player, I joined EDSM on 3rd August this year and using the console updater, it uploaded all my records from 8th July until present.
So, if you just use data from the Frontier servers, it may only upload a month or so of reports. YMMV
