Lemurs!

I might be the only one, but I would absolutely love to see more lemur species in game! I don't know if this is planned or not, but I thought I'd throw my two cents in anyway. I remember in Zoo Tycoon 2 I had a ton of fun making "Lemur Houses" with three or four different species (from custom content). :) Also... many lemur species are endangered to critically endangered, so it would just be fun to set up a conservation program for the different species! An added bonus... many of them could be added to the game with just some small changes to the Ring-tailed's model and actions and be pretty darn close to perfect.

Either way, I'm so looking forward to seeing all the animals in the final release- more lemur species or no! :giggle:

...I don't know how I'll occupy my time when beta ends agh

I know somebody found a file named "Ruffed lemur" so I suspect that we'll be getting at least a second species in the base game! Time will tell, though... And I've had the same thought about the different "models"/tweaks for animals. Some of the additional species people are asking for can be (presumably) developed easily once there's something to base the model and behavior on.

And who knows! Maybe in a year or two they'll open up a Toolkit liek they did with PlanCo and folks can fill in any gaps with animals they create on their own, the way they have done in the Zoo Tycoon 2 community over the years! :)

I really hope we wind up with more than the two lemur species via DLC, though, along with additional madagascar animals (e.g., mongoose, fossa, some of the birds).

One of the best things about working with Zoo Tycoon 2 and all of its custom content is the wide array of animal species you have to choose from. Everybody's zoo can look completely different with different animals! It would be really neat for one person to be able to create a lemur exhibit with four species of lemur, another to create a primate house (that includes big apes as well as lemurs and smaller monkeys), and another to create a jungle habit or something that just focuses on the Madagascar. With all of the variety we're allowed in the game with exhibit and building design, I really hope they also allow for a variety of animals as time goes along too!

But this is just me getting over excited now!

Agh!! Me too! That would be super cool. :D This is my first time playing the "Planet" series so I've no experience with planet coaster but that would be super fun! :giggle: As for the possible ruffed lemur... holy heck yes pleaSE! I was really hoping to have one or both of those in game. I think a Madagascar DLC would be great, I almost mentioned the fossa in my post haha! The big animals are all fun but I also love building habitats for the smaller fellas! <3

I know its not the most popular opinion but I'd actually love some more animal DLC over the years! Its a good way to keep the game alive and bringing in money for the developers, and of course adds new interest! As long as its not super expensive (and honestly, even if it is...), I can see myself buying each and every piece of DLC they release LOL. I'm loving this game so far!

...As for the aye-aye... that would be awesome! They're such odd-looking little guys, but... I can't help but love them aha. Super fascinating! It would be cool if we could make some sort of nocturnal house for them. 😄

I experimented a bit with huge Underground-Caves. It can be really dark in there if it is deep enough. Maybe it could be possible with Caves that aren't underground. The Entrance-Area of the Cave could be something like a Reptile-House with a lot of Terrariums and then behind a Archway where it is darker could be the Aye-aye-Enclosure. Maybe a Aardvark-Enclosure too because they are also nocturnal

I'm putting together a "wishlist" of DLC packs/content and a Madagascar pack (along with a nocturnal creatures pack!) is definitely in that mix for something I want (including the aye-aye and fossa along with new birds and a hissing cockroach exhibit item)! I'm even doing some thinking on the order the different DLC packs could come out in based on features some might have, etc. I'm hoping they add-in different ways to create smaller exhibits (e.g., mini-aviaries like you typically see outside of primate houses in zoos). Those would be easy enough to implement as you'd keep the mechanics the same but just add some new fence or building pieces...

I'm with you as far as the DLC is concerned. And given the amount of content that PlanCo has gotten over the years, along with the JWE content that's been released in roughly 1.5 years already (10+ new dinosaurs), two new scenario packs (with 13 new dinosaurs between them along with some new features)... I'm hopeful they will support PlanZoo similarly. And if the animals are easily created/modified I can see them being able to do quite a bit more in a similar timeframe if there are enough people playing the game and purchasing the DLC they release.

I just hope the focus is more on animals, scenery, and exhibit items rather than major park features or even new scenarios. I get that some people want all sorts of non-animal-centric things but that's not really why I'm here personally. For me, the focus is on the flora and fauna. Creating interesting, life-like exhibits and getting creative with that. I'm sure it will add up, but I'll probably purchase every bit of DLC they put on the market!

I would love the ability to set-up internal enclosures for nocturnal animals! I mean, we can kind of do it now... But having access to red/blue tinged lighting would add to the effect, for sure.

It is possible to change the Color of at least one Lamp. But the Lamps only seem to shine at Night. I hope it will be possible to let them shine at Daytime too.

Edit: I've built a Nocturnal Animal-Enclosure just for Fun

But at Daytime it doesn't look as good as in the Night
