Why all these people suddenly worried that our lifetime purchase isn't going to be lifetime anymore? The thought hadn't crossed my mind that that sort of thing would happen.

I'd be more concerned about Braben suddenly deciding that Elite: Dangerous is finished in its current form, than one year later dropping Elite: Deadly, or whatever the name of the next iteration in the series will be. The LEP won't mean jack then.
As for a refund, I don't think they'd grant one at this point anymore. On the reasoning that the player in question has already made use of his lifetime expansion pass by playing some of the content it provides. May I remind you all that originally, some refunds caused by the offline mode story were denied, before launch, on the basis that people had already played the beta version of the game?

I'm still trying to think of a controversy that exists only in my own head but I can assure you that when I do think of one, if FDev ever do it I will be asking for a full refund of my LEP, a personally signed letter of apology from David Braben and Sandy, Ed's biscuits and probably a small annuity. And I don't even have an LEP!

Everything mentioned at the expo is beyond, including those two ships. There will be additional paid-for content. We dont know what it is, we do know lep holders get it for free.
While we're on the subject, if FDev decide to turn ED into a fishing simulator at some point in the future, I'll be vigorously seeking a refund.

People freaked out about fd 'not adding core changes'. Fd held an expo announcing some core changes. People freaked out there was no paid content in 2018 announced. Fd assured them there would also be paid for stuff in 2018, free for lep owners. OP sees that post and freaks out becausecFD doesnt mention 2019. He then threatens to refund, which he cant, so he can use the money on another game, that doesnt exist but does intend pay2win.
