What if commodities you had on your ship were at the top of the commodities list?
I dunno. Feels a little dirty selling cargo from the cargo bay instead of from the commodity market. Why not turn in quests from my transaction page? Bounties? Fines?
If rows were re-ordered on the commodities screen on screen open to place them at the top of the screen if you had cargo in those rows, it would be a better solution than current.
I was going to suggest that for quests , hadn't thought of the bounties , I'll make sure to include it though.
What is dirty about selling from cargo ?
You can already perform actions on your cargo from here.
It seems more appropriate to have a sell option than an eject option if you are in port.
Dumping crap all over the docking bay floor should get you a fine!
The current gui is a bit more click intensive and procedural than it needs to be.
If I have focused an item ( e.g. cargo items / mission / fine / whatever ) I should be able to perform actions on them straight away not have to go trolling through menus manually to find the one place an action is provided.
The current implemention looks like it was lifted out of a computer system 20 years old - First Enc would be my bet

and given a face lift.
Its generally considered good practice in GUI design to provide information up front where possible not penalise users for making bad selections.
.
The current method for selling robots for examples is.
1)Open commods screen.
2)Scroll down
3)Scroll down some more
4)Scroll down yet again
5)Locate robots row
6)Select robots row
7)Signal sale of 1 item
8)See if profitable
9)Sell or cancel
The "see if profitable" is either confirmation of a good sale or a warning not to sell depending on profit amount.
There is a lot of input to get to the warning.

Selling robots from cargo screen ( or sorted commods screen with p.p.u. column ).
1) Open screen
8) See if profitable
9) Sell if desired
The "see if profitable" is either confirmation of a good sale or a warning not to sell depending on profit amount.
There is a no input required to get to this point.

Can you imagine if this were a RL market trading app we were talking about ?
The person who designed the gui that required 20 seconds of input to see if a sale was profitible would be fired.
The person who designed the gui that showed all profitable sales straight away would be promoted.
