Was gonna make a new discussion page, but I thought it'd be easier to revive this one to avoid clutter. Now that we got the last dlc of 2022, I'm curious as to how people's "fixed" packs would change (especially interested in @Fabian 's, which is probably my favourite take so far). I now I've made major edits to my ideal Twilight Pack since I last posted

Sticking to Africa for this, since the whole pack was basically just "more Africa". I like basically every habitat animal in the original pack, so the only new one's are because the Dromedary and Black Rhino are in my version of the base roster (where they belong), and so is the baboon.

I thought i commented in a topic like this one but apparently not lol
I'll just do the last 3 DLC though
Conservation pack: honestly i would not change anything. I think the species roster is pretty solid and all the animals are really well done. I think it would've been better if it was an animal pack since there are tons of endangered animals and species with great conservation stories.
Twilight pack: oh boy, i do not like this one lol So i would only keep the wombat and the bat, replace the rest with tasmanian devil, aye-aye and brown kiwi. Again i feel like a Nocturnal Animal Pack would've been better. TBH i don't even find the building pieces nor the foliage that useful either.
Grasslands Animal pack: for this one i would replace the striped hyena and armadillo (moving them to a desert animal pack) and the blue wildebeest (although i'm really happy that we got the blue wildebeest since i think is more useful than the black one and also it looks gorgeous) for the secretary bird, black rhinoceros and blackbuck.
The devil would be the first member of its order (Dasyuromorphia). If you’re referring to marsupials, they are the same taxonomic rank as placental mammals, so we already knew (way more than) three were ok.
To be fair to Frontier I won't change the order or format of any of the dlc.

I kept quite a few animals in their packs, but did some shuffling around. I think that, in hindsight, this is a much better way of doing the dlc as we get some very important animals a lot earlier. For example, the gibbon comes more than a year earlier being in the SEA Animals Pack. I did that quite a few times, only removing a few animals but shuffling some around that I thought better fit the theme. Like the California sea lion and Asian small-clawed otter being in the Aquatic Pack instead.
Arctic Pack
1. Polar bear 2. Arctic fox - replaces the arctic wolf 3. Reindeer 4. Musk ox - replaces the dall sheep Exhibit. European common adder
South America Pack 1. Jaguar 2. Vicuna - replaces the llama 3. Giant anteater 4. Yellow-breasted capuchin - replaces the Colombian white-faced capuchin Exhibit. Golden-eyed stick insect - replaces the red-eyed tree frog
Australia Pack 1. Red kangaroo 2. Koala 3. Emu - replaces the Southern cassowary 4. Common wombat - replaces the dingo Exhibit. Frilled lizard - replaces the blue-tongued lizard
Aquatic Pack
1. California sea lion 2. Giant otter 3. King penguin 4. Giant Asian pond turtle - replaces the dwarf caiman Exhibit. African lungfish - replaces the terrapin
Africa Animal Pack
1. Southern white rhinoceros 2. Meerkat 3. Bat-eared fox - replaces the fennec fox 4. African penguin 5. Southern ground hornbill 6. De Brazza's guenon 7. Red river hog Exhibit. Red spitting cobra - replaces the scarab
Southeast Asia Pack
1. Sun bear 2. Malayan tapir - actually looks like a Malayan tapir 3. Clouded leopard 4. Dusky leaf monkey - replaces the proboscis monkey Exhibit. Tokay gecko - replaces the leaf insect
North America Animal Pack
1. American alligator 2. Cougar 3. Moose 4. American beaver 5. Black-tailed prairie dog 6. Ocellated turkey - replaces the California sea lion 7. Common raccoon - replaces the arctic fox Exhibit. Texas cave salamander - replaces the bullfrog
Europe Pack
1. European fallow deer 2. Eurasian lynx 3. Alpine ibex 4. European badger Exhibit. Fire salamander
The only pack where I don't think I would change anything.
Wetlands Animal Pack
1. Asian small-clawed otter 2. Platypus 3. Spectacled caiman 4. Red-crowned crane 5. Capybara 6. Pere David's deer - replaces the water buffalo 7. Alaotran gentle lemur - replaces the lechwe Exhibit. False water cobra - replaces the Danube crested newt
Twilight Pack
1. Tasmanian devil - replaces the wombat 2. Malagasy giant rat - replaces the skunk 3. North Island brown kiwi - replaces the raccoon 4. Striped hyena - replaces the red fox Exhibit. Rodrigues flying fox - replaces the Egyptian fruit bat
I suspect I would prefer it as an animal pack, so I would also include: 5. South African springhare - uses the kangaroo rig 6. Owston's civet 7. Kinkajou - uses the binturong rig
Grasslands Animal Pack 1.Blue wildebeest Replace with saiga to represent steppe grasslands 2. Maned wolf 3. Emu 4. Bennett's wallaby
The next three I'd replace on the assumption that we would have still received them in a desert-focused pack: 5.Caracal Replace with grey crowned crane 6.Nine-banded armadillo Replace with Patagonian mara 7.Striped hyena Replace with baboon species
Butterflies -
I'm super stoked about the butterflies, but they don't really fit the theme. Replace with finches.
My excuse is that I hope to put it back into something like a Desert Animal Pack, whilst I find it difficult to put a wombat into any other pack concept.
I see a lot of people replacing things with the tazzy devil in Australia pack. I promise you if we didn't get the cassowary then, it would be top of the meta now.
