Lets fix Arid Animal Pack

Well this DLC's animal roster doesn't really satisfied most of the community 'cause of some "bad" animals choices and the fact of all of them are african so here's a place to dream about how this animal pack could be better in your opinion. Here's the roster:
  • Dromedary Camel
  • Addax
  • Dama Gazelle
  • African Crested Porcupine
  • Sand Cat
  • Black Rhinoceros
  • Somali Wild Ass
  • Desert Horned Viper

    I somewhat took into consideration how much the dromedary camel is wanted by the community, but if it was for me, I'd keep the Sand Cat (which we also don't reeeaaaly need) and scratch the Camel.

Sticking with the arid African theme, I’d swap the rhino, gazelle, and ass for the Hamadryas baboon, African spurred tortoise, and rock hyrax. I’m not unhappy with what we got by any means, and I don’t think there’s a single weak link in the habitat lineup. It’s just, it could be a bit stronger.

I’d trade the snake for literally anything, including nothing at all, however.

I would have done:

  • Crested Porcupine
  • Dama Gazelle --> Hamadryas Baboon
  • Dromedary
  • Black Rhinoceros --> Secretary Bird
  • Addax ---> African Spurred Tortoise/Rock Hyrax
  • Somali Wild Ass
  • Sand Cat ---> Honey Badger
  • Horned Viper ---> Hummingbirds in WE

To be clear, I like all those animals individually, but for me personally it is a bit ungulate heavy as in one package.

Same for me.
Honestly just swapping either the addax or gazelle for the hamadryas baboon and calling it the sahara pack would already go such a long way for me

Change the Name to Sahara animal Pack, possibly include the Hamadryas Baboon instead of one of the antelopes and the Pack is fixed in my opinion.

I am Not Sure if most of the Community is not satisfied. It is the same with all packs, not only this. People are Happy with this and unhappy with that. But at the end a Pack will never be perfect for everybody here. From my own experience getting 3 animals from my Wishlist is a big deal. And this Pack delivered it to me.

  • African Crested Porcupine - Keep
  • Sand Cat - Keep
  • Black Rhinoceros - Move to another pack and replace with Hamadryas Baboon
  • Somali Wild Ass - Cut and replace with African Spurred Tortoise
  • Desert Horned Viper - Cut and replace with Ring-Necked Spitting Cobra
I also really want the Secretary Bird but that can go into another pack somehow.

I will say I’m disappointed with this roster
Here’s my opinion, il make it Arid fix or at least an African dlc

  • Dama Gazelle- Secretary bird- road runner

  • Sand Cat- keep
  • Black Rhinoceros- Golden Jackal
  • Somali Wild Ass- collared peccary

  • Dromedary Camel - Cool addition, model looks GREAT !
  • Addax - Patagonian Mara, to go outside of Africa, to increase the so poor South American continent, and because it's SO common in zoos :'(
  • Dama Gazelle - Secretary Bird, too similar with the Addax !
  • African Crested Porcupine - GREAT addition !
  • Sand Cat - Whyyyy not, Frontier is not able to give us a pack without a dog or a cat, so at least, it's cute...
  • Black Rhinoceros - For me, we have never enough rhinos and BIG herbivores, so VERY cool addition !
  • Somali Wild Ass - Cool addition, very common !
  • Desert Horned Viper - African Spurred Tortoise, we have enough snakes, and it's sad to don't use Walking Exhibit...

    No bird ?? What a shame ! No other continent than Africa ?? MEH !!

If we went full one what I'd want, I would toss out the Dromedary as well, for the Golden Jackal, but I do understand the point of having the Dromedary in the game.

What I feel most now though is RIP hopes for habitat Birds like the Secretary Bird.

The really like this pack. My only major gripe is the lack of Hamadryas baboon, but I'm not annoyed with any of the additions. I would have preferred the ocelot, but the sand cat is still great. Sure, it would be nice to get some birds for realism sake, but mammals are my favorite, sorry!! I'm just happy we don't have any animals that are super uncommon in zoos!

1. Perentie (using nile monitor model, adds some more oceanian species)
2. Crested Porucpine
3. Dromedary
4. Hamadryas Baboon (pay attention frontier)
5. Honey Badger
6. Greater Roadrunner OR Burrowing Owls (people want birds, pay attention frontier)
7. Collard Peccary (adds another pig, and adds another species from South/North America

8. Exhibit no one cares. Overhaul these. Literally no one cares about the poorly done cloned snakes.


The better question is....why dedicate an entire animal pack to a region (deserts) with the LOWEST levels of BIODIVERSITY on Earth?

Who made that call?

The moon, the ocean floor, middle of a volcano, saline flats....what other area in our solar system has less biodiversity than deserts????
