Let's make PvP profitable again!

I believe that a way to put PvP bounty hunting back on track would be to:
- Multiply the bounties you get on your head by x10 (maybe only for player murdering?).
- Make bounties going dormant after 3 weeks instead of 1, and disappear only 3 weeks later.
- Vouchers that can be cashed-in from the transaction panel (at a loss of 30-50% value for instance)
- Tweak (Engineer mods, maybe?) these damn frameshift wake scanners to scan faster (modded stats) or/and track your target for a limited time across systems (special effect)

Easy way to prevent bounty farming.

Make the game hardcore mode.

Compensate with double profits, half prices and add unlockable accelerated start positions up to about the 10 mil mark (i.e cheap vulture/ASP ir decent cobra).

Make the game more about playing then aquiring huge fortunes and a garage of dust collecting ships

Never going to happen, sadly.
But the game could have both options to get profit from farming and PvP.
Plenty of suggestions on this forum, including mine from previous comment I believe.

So they will not encourage it never again.

I mean at least they could give you 50k Credits Base per CQC Match, and if you get rewards and you get first, they could award you with 1 Millon.

Is not that crazy, in the time you do a CQC match, you can finnish a 2million mision in game. So, same thing. And ppl will actually play CQC a lot more, since you will be pvping while gathering money for your in game ships.

Its even a better mechanic than ppl grinding in solo and then going full anaconda on open.

CQC is ina sad state because there is no real reason to play it EXCEPT that it is FUN.

Unfortunately I rather play the main game unless they add a carrot of some kind to link it better with ELITE.

-Increase payout to 10K per kill

-Add ability to choose X amount of sponsors depending on rank

-Sponsors add bonuses to your payout

-Sponsors give decals as rewards
 
PVP is essentially worthless with the p2p instancing networking they're using. Which is a shame! I say that as a primarily PVE person, so don't misjudge my intention here. The removal a p2p system and the implementation of a server-side system would enhance the game on more levels than I can count. The simple fact that you'd have more people in the system to play with is enough of a reason for the switch. I'd even consider paying a subscription if that were to happen.

CQC failed a while ago because of what you're saying (the payouts) and because there is nothing to really strive toward with it.
 
I say they leave standard bounties as they are, and add Pilots Federation bounties for player kills only that are equal to 6000 credits plus half the insurance cost of the murdered player. Remove the cap on player bounties, and make Pilots Federation bounties galaxy wide but they don't apply the "Wanted" status, yet they do spawn NPC Bounty Hunters beyond a certain point. Add a fine to respawn equal to half of your Pilots Federation bounty at the time you were destroyed.

But you see, I quite enjoy acquiring huge fortunes and garages of dust collecting ships. That's a fine game for me.

You can play your hardcore mode yourself, set those rules - be an Ironman - don't force them on others.

Please do not post things like that. It makes eyes of Pvpeers itchy.

EDIT: But congrats, your "solution" would definitely kill once and for all PvP, discouraging any player to be a bad guy (and we need bad guys to make the galaxy dangerous) and inviting even more players to combat log.

PvP used to be a profitable venture. I remember obtaining millions hunting down wanted commanders with large bounties. It was just as fun racking up my own bounty to 21,000,000+ and fighting off countless commanders from all over the galaxy as they tried to collect it. I was #1 on the Alliance bounty board for a long time. This was an amazing time to be playing Elite: Dangerous.

Unfortunately, gold farmers exploiting the system forced FD to eliminate this profitability by capping player bounties. Surely, there are ways of preventing exploitation while maintaining the traditional bounty system. This NEEDS to come back and would be wonderfully complemented by PvP becoming an additional method for progression with the engineers.

If people (read pvpers) weren't exploiting bounties they would never have been capped.

there are no engineers in CQC so why would you expect to get engineer stuff from PVP?

I'm not invested in either side of this argument, just to be clear.. but this kind of post just beggars belief.. intelligent discussion of the subject might just move things on a little..

Random murder should be highly punished. There is zero reason to allow people to kill each other without a punishment, it doesn't make any sense from a believability perspective. If you want to engage in consensual PvP, feel free to pick an uninhabited system or turn crimes against you to off and go to town. If you want to be a bad guy, then be a bad guy, with all that entails.
 
But yet, PvP is the most exciting blast I am having in the game.
I am sure anybody who gives a serious try to PvP would agree with me.

if ED was never sold as a PVP game (except CQC, DBOBE), pvp in open& groups is unintended, ergo an exploit.

I am surprised so many people are so open to admitting they exploit the game, what next a sub forum for altF4 combat logging or hackers
